"Why is it because I'm still not interested it has to be because I'm afraid, or that I'm too stupid to understand it? I think they're trying to trick us into answering how they want us to. Food for thought."

It's a figure of speech, you might say: 'Sorry, but I'm afraid I can't do that'. It doesn't mean you're afraid.

Apart from the fact that not many people have taken part in Triumvirate or know about it, I noticed that like me, a lot of people did try out Triumvirate but then left it:

I was involved before and I'm gonna' keep on with the pwnage! 9% (256 votes)
I was involved before, but I'm not sure if I want to continue 4% (132 votes)

I know it's still early to draw any conclusions, but so far a third of the people who answered and have taken part in it have decided not to continue with it.

I took part in one event, but then it all got too confusing, Triumvirate just seems so unorganised and messy, I couldn't really be bothered to keep up with it. Also by the time I got there, it was a few days late and it seemed like everyone already there was quite happy and already had gotten to know each other so trying to fit in by then sort of failed and I just gave up on because I didn't really feel the community part of it :(

That's what I thought at first. But "afraid" in this context doesn't mean fear. Stop using English phrases that us Americans don't understand! ;)

Interesting that people still don't understand what the Triumverate is. Tbh, I find it difficult to explain myself.

What kind of stupid options are those for the last question? The only one that even remotely describes me was the "I wasn't interested before and I'm still not, I'm afraid". Wtf is that? I'm not afraid... I just don't give a rats ass. Why is Jagex so afraid of putting up options that they don't want to hear? There should've been a, "I don't care about it" option.

Stupid ass poll

I still don't understand what "afraid" means in that context. And I will never learn English phrases for if I do I'll probably start saying them and creep myself out lol.

Just a reminder, I'm not afraid I'm with Oz, I just don't give a rats ass.

It's interesting to see how much the wording of poll questions affects responses. I have to admit that, at first glance, I also thought it strange that anyone would be afraid of not being interested; but, then I checked that there was a nice comma there, indicating that it was not two independent clauses, just an unnecessary dependent clause.

Now, as to why I'm not interested:

1. Most of the activities are combat-based, and I'm only interested in combat to the extent that it can be an effective means of gathering some materials.

2. On the rare occasion that there is some type of non-combat activity, it tends to require a lot of concentration on one non-combat skill. Personally, I'm not interested in doing the same thing/skill for extended periods; I break things up to cycle through many different activities/skills before repeating the early part of the cycle.

I might be interested in such an activity if it were completed in about an hour, even if completing the event only contributes to an accumulated point total, not necessarily a final victory.

However, there's no way I'd spend a week/end doing the same thing over an over again. I realize that for some people that is the nature of the game, but it's not my thing.

3. Although it doesn't seem to apply that much here, I also tend to avoid any type of activity that has a dress code for no reason other than to indicate participation. If needed to keep track of scoring, then I don't mind for the course of the activity; but, overall, I don't wish to signal affiliation with any group, even a temporary, event-based group.

I guess at first it'd be hard to adapt. Even though you're a bit late, it doesn't mean you can't become apart of the community. :)

It might be a bit unorganized, I admit, but it's doing pretty well in my opinion... It has over 15k people signed up, and there's only two to three Jagex Moderators that are holding it up, really. ;)

I didn't figure that people wouldn't feel welcomed. :|
