I say yes to free trade and wildy....Wanna know why?
A. Free Trade
1.Making money was so much easier back then, you can run nature and law and everybody was happy. No one worried about exceeding the trade limit. Fletching and high alch was actually a way of money making.
2.Saradomin set and the rare items stayed at a constant price, around 1.5 mil or so. Now, do to merch clan, it is at 4.5 millon and even hit 7 million last summer.
3.FREE MONEY! Thats right all you new players, I used to hand out 20k at random in lumbridge, and many people even handed out 50 or 100k.
4.FREE ITEMS! Drop party is a very frequent thing, I got 70k at lv 3 while attending a drop party.
B. Wilderness
1. As for all the pkers, most of them weren't able to kill me before reaching the safe level of wilderness( Where they are too high of a level to attack me). Nowadays, A rev will come along and use the crappy ice spell that no free player can get and kill me in several seconds... O_o
2. In my 4 year of playing in the "Unsafe wildy" I have only died twice... In my two years of playing in the "Safe wildy" I have died ten times....

My Credential?
6 years in Runescape

not after the capes came out. too many people wanted to buy the capes.

wrong. it was due to the amount of gps coming into the game. so called merchant clans are actually manipulating the prices in a scam where the leaders make huge amounts of money from the players in the clan by causing a spike that soon crashes back to the normal price.
XionicX14, your welcome.

i have tried 2 buy or sell something in the ge on a busy world by trading it with other people quite a few times and have never succeded
this will get a lot worse if free trade comes back and if a relatively common item is merched then most people who cant be bothered to wait around and get bored will have 2 use the ge
and im assuming that anybody who isnt a mercher doesnt want that

merchanting isnt bad for the game (at least not according t jagex). manipulation is.
it will be harder for them to manipulate things with higher and lower ends gone.
