Here is a poem someone wrote back in 2007.
The Truth:
10th December I woke up,
Drank my choco, washed the cup,
Opened the window , And what do I see?
My ugly neighbour , Screaming at me :
"They Ruined RuneScape" he said , cried and ran
I turned on my PC , Like a real man
Opened my browser, turned off my TV
And suddenly on my homepage, What do I see?
"RuneScape vs Real-world Trading " I began to read
Sicker and sicker I am starting to feel
"Wilderness changes" maybe it's not as bad as it seemed
This must be a joke, this can NOT be real
Understanding what my friend was talking about
I logged on the forum, and started to shout!
Why Jagex? Why have you done this to me?
Destroyed the thing I love, yet can you see
How much Time we have wasted, we are no longer free
I Wanted to kill, but I couldn't PK,
I lost my merchanting, whats the point to play?
Duel Arena stinks, the Grand Exchange is a bore,
Jagex you yet again, fail us once more.
Why are messages hidden, Jagex are you scared?
Do you feel that the truth, is something not bared?
Or do you want to lose your members more then ever,
Because you have ruined this game, for now, and for ever.
You can remove our posts, and keep us quiet,
But when it goes down, there will always be riot
Rants upon rants, people throw their fits,
Until this day came, now its time to call it quits.
I know the rhymes, might mistake, but can't you see?
It's Jagex! Please do not blame it on me!
If you thought , that the Poem is great
Post it again, and we might yet change our Fate!

Listen chaps, in all games there's problems with account and gold selling, the solution which jagex created was flawed, there are clans that control the marketplace and prices of items.
I'm not a fan of pking or free trade, but it's nice to give people presents or items that you think they deserve.
The main thing i want, is the duel arena, i had many a day wasted staking >300m against some of the most stand-up people i knew, it was a great community and great fun until the duel arena was killed.
BRING BACK DUEL ARENA!

I'm so glad that free trade is coming back I may start playing again. I'm just surprised and deeply angered towards those who opposed. Though they have their reasons, so do I. I was one of the many who quit that day, the day runescape died. Could this be a revival or a setback that is only holding back the inevitable? Only time will tell.

My vote is For the return of free trade and the wild.
Sure bots and scamming and price controlling clans are concerns
But ive been playing RS on and off for about 8 years and i can tell
You first hand RS has never been the same and its depressing
My favorite part of RS was the hugly varying MARKET and the fact that RS market was very similar to real life economy with cycles and price variations. As it is now it just doesnt feel the same. I want to go back to falador or camelot and bargain my merchandise to the highest of 10 bidders. And i want offer my merchandise to my friends for 80% off. And most of all i want to help out my fellow noobs the way players helped me. Back on my first account when i was learning the game every once and a while i would find people who felt giving that day and thus gave me a free rune full. But now that i have my godsword and millions i feel unable to return the favor and help create a friendlier game community

when you killed the wildy, you killed runescape, you sucked the life from it like leeches! you drained it of all the exitement of the wildy, venturing around with a few loyal friends thinking in your head "will we be killed?" will i be killed by my trusted friends?" that was the meaning of the wilderness, but now its just a wasteland to go and walk around in, i visited it a month ago with a friend and no doubts that we wouldn't be killed for the only true danger is that chaos elemental (for the record it killed me twice, but the first tme i was a noob, the second just foolish)

bring back the wildy!

hi there, i played Runescape back in 'the good old days' as people call it and personally i loved it. Runescape is designed for a role playing experiance, and personally the best experiance you can get from a game is to be able to learn from it, that being to treasure what you have and be careful when dealing large amounts of cash, if anything this game has taught me in the real world is to remember, if there is a way to cheat a system, people will do it.
i agree that scamming is wrong, but i feel that scamming made the game stronger, as such. everyone who was new to Runescape in 2007 would of been scammed atleast once. but you learn from it. which is what a role playing game is all about.
my vote will definatley be going towards the update. i prefer'd Runescape when there wasn't any rules; go into the wilderness, people will kill you. if you aren't careful with your cash, it will be taken from you. In the real world, it is every man for themselves, i believe people should be able to learn that first hand through a game, before they get 'scammed' in a real life situation.
