First of all Heero, if the kid is under 13, he/she is technically breaking a rule...but no one follows it so I guess it doesn't matter.
Second of all, sometimes those gullible kids you were talking about just need a kick in the butt to teach them to either stay away from the wildy or "Proceed with caution."
It would be great if each new player was told to never follow someone around in the wildy, but we can't all have that, huh?
It might even teach the kid a life lesson, who knows? Stay away from strangers and NEVER follow them around to someplace where you don't know where you are.
It's the kids' choices to wander into the wilderness at their own risk, I have always noted the warnings and the skull and crossbones at the bottom corner of the screen. Apparently a lot of kids need to pay more attention to their surroundings.
Free trade and wilderness come at somewhat at a cost, but with it in place there will be a lot less noobs because they will learn from their mistakes and become experienced much more quickly.
Lurers are bad but on the other hand, we can't just hold new players' hands the whole way through the game; that would be boring and a lot less fun for the new player not being able to make his own choices and explore on his own.
