At the end of the day, If Wildy come back, old players will be coming back to play again. Also the newer players (2007-2010) will not be complaining when they see how good old wilderness was and when they see all worlds have 1000+ players. New Pvp is diliked by the majority, w 26 400 people tops at one time, old wildy w 2 (main pking world as i remember) 2000 people all the time. Gf New Rs, welcome to Old wildy back! and days of fun on runescape ;)

to the people who dis-agree, you guys are pathetic. when wildy got removed we lost nearly all players if they put wild and trade back to how it used to be back in 2007 we will have loads of players again which means there will be more stuff to do. e.g if they bring back wildy you got a better chance of getting all your junk sold which means more money for you so you disagreeing is pathetic dont like the idea? then quit because rs dosent need pathetic losers like you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
on topic, i support, give us old wildy back and free trade, to the people who disagree, go lick a pole and die ok?
bye bye
regards,
-C H E W

Mod Osborne says, and I quote; “I regularly hear from both the community and the Jagex team that we should reintroduce free trade and the excitement of the old Wilderness, warts and all. As you know, we removed free trade and the Wilderness in 2007 to combat botting, gold farming and item scamming. Since then, we have produced new content that provides comparable gameplay and mechanics to allow increased trade limits with long-term friends; however, we are still regularly being told that something is missing from the 'good old days' of RuneScape.
We’ve been shutting down bot-makers all around the world and prosecuting people for stealing accounts, and we’ve evolved our systems to quickly detect cheating; however, we will have to accept that we will never completely eradicate cheating so long as there is an incentive and method to do so. Bringing back free trade and the original Wilderness will certainly make this a bigger issue than it is today, though I can pledge that we will never stop trying to combat it.”
The ‘good old days’ I don’t think so. The wilderness was supposed to be a place for PVP but it never was. It was a place for assassination and terrorism. In the good old days you go into the wilderness and are attacked by three players, a meleer, a mage and a ranger, standing one on top of the other so it looked like one player on the mini map. That’s not PVP is it, it’s unfair advantage. After awhile I just refused to go into the wilderness. It was not exciting to die.
In the ‘good old days’ you stood in Falador park (world 2) trying to buy or sell something along with 200+ other players doing the same thing. It was nothing but mass confusion.
Bah Humbug! Why would I want to go back to either of those? It’s not progressing, it’s regressing. There’s not much good about the ‘good old days’, just ask your grandparents.

And I quote Mod Osborne again; “We’ve been shutting down bot-makers all around the world and prosecuting people for stealing accounts, and we’ve evolved our systems to quickly detect cheating; Bringing back free trade and the original Wilderness will certainly make this a bigger issue than it is today.”
So if these things are working why take the risk of changing it, and making it a bigger issue. And yes there are always going to be cheaters, it’s just human nature.
As you can probably tell my vote is NO, no, no, no. Leave the game the way it is, just keep working on ways to stop the gold farmers, botters and cheaters.
Fix the vote also so you can vote yes or no.

Honestly as a player since around 2004(2 accounts). I would be a very bad idea to bring back the old wild. I mean At first i was like OMMGGGG yes! :P . But then i remembered y i stopped playing a few years ago. Cuz of scams and hacks. And i also think the poll should be tweaked a little. i mean how is it a poll if you can only vote yes...
I dont miss the old wild. But i dont even pk now.
And The trade is great. i mean u could make the limit a bit higher. But not free. :| Also, i dont think Jagex is ready to lose about half of their players.
So Please dont Bring back the wild and free trade :| I vote No!

O.K., this has gone far enough now I see people claiming to be from the "old days" whining about the wild. We all did clue scrolls and quests that took us into the wild just fine before the wild was removed so quit being so scared of nothing. Big deal if pk'ers will be back out there at least the revenants will be gone and they've already said they will be relocating things OUT of the wild so quit harping on about the same thing over and over it's a dead subject. And i agree we all had to make due or leave when our freedoms were removed and jagex started acting like the american government (I AM AMERICAN SO I KNOW) restricting our trade and ***ching what we spend, buy, or sell.
MOVE ON!
==** I say bring back the freedom! **==

Once upon a time, in Edgeville I prepared for a trip into the Wilderness, level 55 for a clue. I approached the border, seeing the massive crowd of people selling potions and other combat necessities to the south. To the north massive duels rage endlessly, I see people dying every second. I have my dds and dragon-hide only; my protected Items. Inventory full of Lobsters, my wilderness food before I was able to catch monkfish; I stand on the edge of the wilderness. I literally gulp and enter; Eyes plastered on my mini-map and my hp in my skills tab. I have auto-retaliate off and I run through after building up enough will power.
I managed to get through undetected, or at least without attracting a PKers interest. Once I pass level 10 I turn run off, "I'll save it in case I need it" --I think to myself. I make it to the location of my clue and dig it up. I leave as fast as I can, following the far west edge down south for extra safety.
On my exit I am relieved for a successful 'Wildy Run'.
The End.
Sadly, now I enter the Wildy, without a thought, without any fear, without respect for the area. I feel no sense of accomplishment of cheating death. I feel nothing, just one thrill of excitement that has been removed from the game. It's return would be well worth it.

I should do a story about free trade later; oh wait, that's easy.
My good friend helped me buy my first whip when I was a broke noob.
^^1.3m,
The End.
Gf opposition.

You're all complaining about recent features in Wildreness? If any of you just read all the contents... There is a ingame conversation on Forums with one of the Jagex Moderatos. He explains perfectly what will be fixed and how (if the update occurs ofcourse).
Some Wildreness contents will be moved elsewhere, etc. :) .
I believe old Wildreness is great, as it's great way to do some combat activity.
Not PvP activities now, as you hardly get anything if you're not maxed-pro pker.
And it's quite boring to stand in Wildreness and kill couple of people in few minutes :| .
