Runescape is such a hilarious satirical mirror of internet trolls.
Isn't it ironic? The same people that are all, "OMFG WE WANT CHANGE! BRING BACK THE OLD WILDY!!!!1!!1!11!!" used to TROLL at the idea of changing anything in rs. God above, what a laugh.
Again, I really couldn't care less about the Wilderness, or Free Trade. I just want that stupid poll changed if Jagex is gona use it, or scrapped if they have no intention of listening to it.

this is not a good idea it is flawed from the get go.
if it is not broke don't fix it.

pkers hear me out. you just want to be greedy oinkers that you really are.

you should be content where you can pk in your own little worlds and be content with that.

you can pk in your worlds till the cows come home.
why bother to force it off on others that are not in to it.
and jagex this is not fair the one sided vote it is really making me angry

IF IT WERE LEGIT, IT WOULD BE A SECURE SITE, AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO LOG IN, A VOTE YES MEENS YES, A NO VOTE MEENS SOME 1 EALSE WILL USE YOUR NAME TO VOTE YES ..............YOUR OPINION DOESNT MATTER!! DONT KID YOURSELF INTO THINKING IT DOES, THEY HAVE ALLREADY DECIDED OR THEY WOULDNT LET PEOPLE CHEAT THE VOTE

So while I hate caps lock with a burning passion, I actually agree with what was said. If this was meant to be a legitimate voting process, the voting would be more secure. You would be required to log in to each account (like the polling system has required for years).
While your opinions expressed in the forums might count for something (if any Jagex mods actually make it through the entire mess to read it)... your 'VoteYes' or 'LackOfAVote' on that page truly DOES NOT MATTER in the slightest. Jagex must realize by now, whether they admit it or not, that it is not only extremely biased and misleading but it is also extraordinarily simply for people to manipulate (as many people currently are).
All of that said, I still sit on the fence about this. I initially voted yes on purpose (and for about 5 noob accts) but I after reading this thread I want those votes back. This comment made me begin to realize how terrible this could be...

YES, I miss having the old wilderness and free trade, but I do NOT miss competing for a yew tree with 3 dozen bots or watching an army of them march back and forth from the bank to the Aubury to get more pure essence.

Jagex. Whatever you do, you'd better be damn sure you KNOW you can realistically combat the return of bots and RWT.
A couple friends of mine pointed out that while you were initially defending your choice to kill free trade/Wildy, you were always saying things about how we needed to look to the future/stop looking back. Please explain what this is, if not pulling an absurdly unplanned 180. :|

And honestly, that’s my main issue with this whole thing. Do you guys honestly have plans for how this reimplementation would work? Do you have good ideas already developed for how to merge the G.E with the availability of free trade? Do you know what you do with the new PvP things that have been developed since the death of the Wild (gravestones, minigames in the wild)? Do you know for a FACT that you have programs in place that can stop the surge of new bots? (because honestly, maybe you just feel that you have great programs in place now but are slightly disillusioned by the fact that most were implemented around the time free trade was nerfed, thus killing the need for so many bots) My issue is just that right now, you haven’t given us very much information on how this would work.
Things that make me feel slightly positive towards the changes though:

Free trade could go a long way to put an end to merch clans controlling the economy if we lose our dependence on the GE and start trading with each other instead, setting our own prices and offers.

Maybe both systems are broken, but which of the two would you prefer? Free trade and Wilderness PKing at least gives the game more interest and challenge. Maybe it won't be all about who bought what skillcapes anymore. Less focus on 99s and more focus on gameplay has to be a good thing.
-
Tbh, I'd much rather bargain with a woodcutter than put in an order on the GE.
And with Wildy back, think how much your potions and food will be in demand. Skilling makes a comeback.

Yes. If they brought back the Wilderness there would naturally be things that go back to being more dangerous. It would be different, but people would again adapt. I would say that the main argument for bringing it back is the fact that people miss that feeling of risk and challenge of succeeding in old school Runescape.

And about losing our dependence on the GE, while I agree that that would also be a great thing, I would never want to see the GE completely go away. There are far too many things that I simply would not want to have to go to Fally in a specific world just to purchase and likewise, just to sell. I feel that there are many items that people would still continue to sell on the GE simply because of how simple and convenient it makes it. And don’t just assume that this would make free trade worthless...
If you feel that way, think for example about someone that wants to purchase 1000 magic logs. Say they put in an order on the GE on max trade, and yet it sits there for 2 days without 1 hit. Clearly the price set in the GE is not consistent with what the going price on the street is, so for that item the person would have to head to Fally or the forums to purchase some logs for a more accurate price. Idk though, I’m not super intelligent when it comes to economics but it seems to me that they could eventually balance out with each other were they both part of the game.
But yeah, I’m done. To sum up, I still don’t completely know which side of this I sit on. The main thing that I have to say is that I would be all for it, so long as Jagex legitimately has plans for every single aspect of the game that would be affected.

The most IDEAL situation imo would be as follows:
1. Jagex mods shift through this thread and HONESTLY sit down and think about the responses we’ve given.
2. Jagex comes up with a set explanation of what things would be affected and how it would be changed.
3. Jagex gives us an ACTUAL vote (with a pw log-in, and one that is advertised as the main article) to decide if we like their ideas.
Things I DON'T want to see:
1. Jagex makes a flawed polling system in which the only outcome is ‘YES!’
2. Jagex flips a switch to turn back on free trade/dangerous Wildy.
3. Players complain and moan about everything that has been destroyed by poor planning.
4. Jagex begins to try to correct the changes, slowly and weakly over the course of the coming months and years (or just nerf the whole project back to restricted trade, pretending they did*’t just create months of awkwardness).
So alright, c'mon Jagex... please just make sure that BEFORE you do ANYTHING to your game, that you have a well laid out plan.
