It is not a record attempt it was confirmed by J mods that when the poll came out when it mentioned the Guinness world records in the copyright it was a typo.

WHEN THEY FIRST STOPPED UPDATE, THE ARGUMENT WAS "ITS THERE GAME THEY CAN SO WHAT THEY WANT" IT WILL BE FUN TO WATCH RUNESCAPE TURN THERE BACKS ON THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORTED THEM THROUGH THE ORIGANALE TRADE UPDATE, LIKE THEY DID ON EVERY 1 THAT WANTED IT TO STAY FREE TRADE IN THE FIRST PLACE, DOESNT FEEL GOOD TO REALIZE THAT THE BOTTEM LINE IS WHAT MATTERS EH??
