if you guys go to youtube and type in the words " Runescape " notice all the videos that pop up 80% of them are all pvp! runescape lives off of pvp we want it back the way it was. people want to risk there money to actually gain something not waste there time gaining ep and all that bs.. bring it back everyone vote is we unite we can succeed.

face it we will have to adapt to pvp and how it was that was real runescape thats how runescapes popularity grew it was all about pking and trading and having fun. i garentee with this update we will restore our population and continue to grow. please vote stop being ignorant stop complaining about how hard treasure trails will be, people in 07 or 06 and 04,03,02,01 had to do it that way heck that was the funnest part to survive so stop complaining and lets change runescape for the best.
lets give it a try what you got to lose? if something does go wrong jagex can always re-do it.... dont ruin the xmas of other people by complaining most of us pkers have dreamed of this moment to come back so join us... please i hope you understand this statement.... vote now and thank you jagex once again for giving us this opportunity of giving us back old wildy and trade.....

It's really hard to get scammed if you have working eyes in your head.
They even added a red flashing tool towards the end of 07 for when someone removes an item from the trade window.
If you get scammed, it's your fault.

I would love to see free trade and the Wilderness return. The only problem will be (as afore mentioned) that people doing clue scrolls, beacons and other various activities in the Wilderness would be much more vulnerable.
Perhaps re-introduce the Wilderness, but have a few safer worlds, where PVP won't happen in the Wilderness, but there will still be Revenants around.
As for people being scammed, there have been updates that can help prevent that- warnings when items have been removed, a second trade screen, higher volumes of gold being a different colour and more. If you are scammed, then learn from your mistakes and be more vigilant in the future. I myself have been scammed using a few different methods, all of which only cost me around 1m at the most. I've learnt to watch out for these methods and I'd warn you to do the same. Perhaps we could build up a list of common scams or methods used to scam us and warn other players if we need to.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want free trade back. You only need a little common sense to not be scammed. Plus, with all the current measures they've taken to make it so dumber people can't be tricked easier (> :O ) it's even harder to scam people. Do you want that little hope that some guy who just went all the way with his GF comes up to you and gives you 10m because he's rich and happy? I SURE DO.
EDIT: I don't want those few safe worlds. The entire reason Clue Scrolls were put into the wilderness was so that they'd be HARDER to do, even if they do give crap awards (most of the time) You have to remember, people coped with clue scrolls in the wildy just fine in the 04-07 era, I'm sure you can too. That's also another reason for a PKer to just happen to find you and hit oil if they kill you. Ever since those updates the community has gotten a bit babied... Do you know what used to happen when you died? People wouldn't be nice and pray at your little "gravestone", they would pile the spot were you died and try to loot your best things (fun times). It was specifically fun when you were fishing or woodcutting and a random event would kill a botter or a afker and you'd get his stuff. Green Dragons also weren't a source of revenue back in rS2.
