Just a thought input here from my perspective;
I've played the game for a very, VERY long time now, my earliest memory dating back to 2003. As a veteran player I was disappointed by the decisions made for the game in 2007, and it actually forced me to quit for about a year before I actually tried giving it another go. I still loved it, but with the new trade placements in order it became upsetting when I had heard my friends had large money problems and I couldn't lend them a hand; it made me feel useless, in a sense.
I believe that the decision to bring back free trade is a smart one now that there are many more ways to combat RWT and scammers. I do believe the Grand Exchange should still retain it's system, though, so people can fairly trade WITHOUT the hassle of being overcharged for their items. Free trade, however, just allows us as players to help one another again.
I also believe that the original wilderness should return on one basis, and that is retain the system on a select number of worlds.
Wilderness in RuneScape was how it was meant to be. Friendship, trust, courage, skill and luck all counted parts in it, and the reward for retaining these five things rewarded you with the ultimate prize; Your enemies prized possessions. When this was taken away and replaced with random items as drops, it had taken so much more out of RuneScape when a person died, such as a set of armour, a weapon, even party hats and the like, were erased from existence because of the new wilderness system, which had affected the rare market incredibly.
Please guys; If anything, DO reintroduce free trade and the old wilderness, but consider the two options.
1, keeping the grand exchange as it is, with a lower, medium and high price tags for each item. This will keep stability for the community who do not wish to lose their hard earn GP.
And 2, retaining the old wilderness in certain worlds, allowing new players to enjoy and explore the wildy with only NPC dangers.
Thankyou.
