Dear Jagex,
I appreciate the fact that your aim for this game is to make it enjoyable for players. With this in mind and because of the immense importance of this vote for the future of Runescape, I feel compelled to leave with you my uninhibited thoughts and hopes for this MMORG.
2007 Before & After – A radical change in the game occurred with the removal of the wilderness and trade restrictions, everyone on both sides can agree to this. I admit I was the first in line to “burn down the castle” after becoming accustomed to a way of playing for two years. However three years removed now, I see changes for the better (fewer bots, convenience of the grand exchange, removal of RWT) along with negatives that should be addressed (pyramid schemes, merch clans, junk trading). The “good old days of Runescape” are something that shouldn’t be compared to today as it was a different stage in Runescape’s development but instead should be appreciated for what it was, the early development of an MMORG. Instead of taking steps backward to solve current issues let’s look forward to solve them. The past holds as many flaws as the present. As a gaming company your focus should be on the future.
Trade Limit – What should have been a minor issue with the introduction of the Grand Exchange has arguably become one of the biggest problems today. While I would certainly argue that the limit needs to be raised, free trade is no longer a viable option in fairness to legitimate players and is perhaps the hardest pill to swallow , but a direct result of those trying to exploit the game. Problems that have arisen with the introduction of the Grand Exchange include, pyramid schemes, merch clans, and junk trading. Instead of looking to free trade limits for answers, you need to take a serious look at the mechanics of the grand exchange, perhaps even revamping it entirely to solve these issues.
