Well I personally think that it is a great way for JaGeX to regain lost players from the 2007 update, and improve the gameplay for us existing players. If you do not want people attacking you while you are in a DANGEROUS place the don't go into the wilderness. RuneScape is not 'Carebears adventure world' and should never be. And for free trade I have mixed feelings about this. With the G.E price barriers removed, people will be asking for rediculous prices and people will pay less for things and in my opinion it will all... Collapse.
I think that the price barriers should remain in the G.E, but free trade should come back. With free trade, it would put more realism into the game, and it would be much easier to give a friend a gift.

I support the return of wilderness and free trade. I've made some friends that are very special to me in the time spent prior to this update, and have not felt the need to make any friends since.
To me, it will mean the return to realistic player and communmity interaction within the game along with the dangers that come with it. The war on botting and rwt has sanitized this game to the point of staleness more suited to a console game (controlled environment with focus on levels). Please bring back the real world feel of the past.

I really hope this update goes through. I, like so many other people, play really only to PK, but that has pretty much been killed. I started playing when the game was first created with a couple worlds, 2d, no rune or wild or members, and all that good stuff. I liked it WAY more and prefer if 100000x more than this game. It seems like every major update is disappointing so I quit, come back, get frustrated and quit again lol. I can't PK anymore because it's been made protective for worse pkers, while also killing rewards for good kills. Anyway, I'll end the mini rant now and get back to the topic.
Aside from RWT and bots I've seen scamming being brought up a lot against the free trade and wild but it is IMPOSSIBLE to be scammed unless YOU'RE trying to cheat but get cheated, or you are trusting someone in a completely ludicrous way, so scamming should not even be brought up. "Merchant clans" scam as much now as other people will if the changes are made anyway, so strike scamming off the list of debate.
RWT, however, would most likely try to make a come back with free trade. But wait! RWT is only a problem that sprouted from the bots, right? Without these bots getting all the supplies, quick high stats, money, etc, RWT would not be a problem at all. So essentially the BOTTING IS THE ONLY PROBLEM TO TAKE CARE OF! Everything about clue scrolls and wild events and things of that nature we all know will be taken care of before any change takes place, so those people shouldn't worry.
So what to do about bots? I'm not savvy to how Jagex deals with it, I won't pretend to be, but one obvious thing I can think of and it frustrates me is the report abuse feature. ARE THE IN-GAME MODS ONLY FOR DISRUPTIVE LANGUAGE!?! Take reports of bots very very seriously, top priority. To stop the flood of reports you probably get, which is what probably slows the process, whoever misuses it take that privilege away for a certain period of time, forever, or a 3 strike rule I don't care.

We Need Both Back!!! Everyone Says I quit playing after they screwed up the pvp and i quit becuase when you need money and your good friend has alot they cant help you its crazy so what if people get scamed its not like they cant get scamed without free trade i say bring both back just have a price value for everything

Ill be so happy if trade limit is gone and id love to be able to finally pk for their items. there would be so many players that would come back from quitting.

Also, for the people debating how the G/E price control leaving would collapse prices and supplies, things like that, should not even be a concern. Things were fine in that department before the GE was created with supply/demand price control and if you don't know what something costs that you have, look it up in the market section on the forum, which will become USEFUL again, and revive actual merchants. Price manipulation and scamming through trade is going on a lot more with the GE now than it was when i played before.

I say yes. This game needs to get back the old spirit. While the trade limit is good to keep the prices stable, free trade gives you freedom in what you're selling and for how much you're selling it for. While some people may sell items for a higher price, you still have a chance at getting it for a low one therefore evening out the prices (heck, just like the real world). I guess if you joined rs after the update, you wouldn't really get it. And I've been scammed before, but it is was always my fault.
The wilderness has always been this dark, scary and a dangerous place. It added excitement (and frustration

) when doing scrolls or just wandering about. Taking it away took away part of the runescape spirit. There's a reason why it's called wilderness.

i think you should put it back you had alot more players playing while old wilderness was available. and about scamming i think u should leave Ge and if wanted also throw in free trade because with the Ge its harder for players to make money because of it. u should put both un-sold things or need money real bad things go in Ge and if want to sell ur own price then free trade
Also in order for you not to get scammed is just being careful in trade always double check the item or coins u r being traded to so i think free trade is also requested

I think that the trade limit between players is the only thing that should be removed. I like how the GE and wildy are set up, just trade limit neeeds to go. This is going to change runescape dramatically, and possibly for the worst
