# On its release in late January, 2005, the price of a whip was at its highest ever (as high as 100 million coins; some whips were traded for Party hats).
It then began to fall as supply increased and excitement over the new item diminished.
# In the summer of 2005 the whip was about 5 million coins, then fell to around 4.3 million by autumn of that year, by mid 2006 it was 2.6 million coins. The price continued to fall until early 2007 where it became relatively stable, it was traded for about 1.4 million to 1.6 million coins.
# From 2007 to early 2008, the whip's price *teadily increased from about 1.25 million to 3.5 million coins.
100 million for an whip back in 2005 and yet people are richer now days than back then

Yes, 100m for the first few whips is a lot. However did dragon or I ever say NO ONE in the game had more than 1 or 2m back then? No, of course not. Did EVERYONE buy a whip for 100m? No, only a small handful of people who had the money to. The only reason new items today aren't going for insane amounts on release is because Jagex regulated their price. So I repeat, yes people are much richer today than back then.

You don't make any sence.
1 - there's a LOT more coins in the game now. If you log out, you get a task done, and free 10m. Every single noob has got 1m+, when back then the 1m-to-10k scamm only was created because people were DESPERATE to accept 1m.
2 - Dragon chain was 15m in 2006-2007. If you had one, people would follow you. Everyone now has bandos parts, so there.
3 - What the hell are you discussing this for? I want wilderness and free trading, not a degree on RS economics. If it changes, too bad. Its a dinamic game, prices change.
Please don't ignore this part! I don't want some made up dates and random words that maybe mean something about RS economy. The main part is: WILD rules, FREE TRADING rules. I don't care if dragon chains go up to 200m and bandos tassets drop to 10k.
If you are voting no on such an awesome update because price changes, you should also vote no to all the updates, and vote no to Time.
I'd rather keep having updates, and living on a 4-dimensional plane. Thanks.

I hate the GE. the prices are just messed up all the time by stupid merch clans who make a ton of money off of people's losses causing the prices to dramatically rise, and then crash. Thats almost as bad as scamming. Also, the GE makes trade almost useless. now trade is only used to lend items or get rid of junk.
Before, everyone traded. It was perfectly fine.
The prices were always steady and merching was alot easier.
Scammers cant really scam anymore because of the explanation mark and the colors of the 10k-100k-10m.
And even if they do, its kinda dumb if you dont pay attention to the second trade window. ^_^

1boo Master i actualy posted that as i got told in chat that whips where never 5 million before the person logged out on me
and i stated that i rembered paying 5 m for mine
and that some people paid way more
also all items get cheaper when better items come out
so the economy has always worked on that principle and the top items will always be expensive as only top players can afford them.
and top players will always be super rich compared to lower players.
and everythign wil always balance out iron ores where only worth 30 gp back in 2005 now there worth 240 gp meaning new players get richer faster but things cost more meaning you need more money to get better items.
so the argument of people being richer is true and flase people have more money now but it buys less.
and there have always been stupidly high priced items

BRING BACK FREE TRADE AND WILDY!!
Free trade and Wildy are the most important part of clans, without them, clans are useless. We need competition, we need wars where we get to loot the enemies' items. We need to trade people items without a limit. We need to have clans roaming around the wilderness, claiming territory!! WE NEED FREE TRADE AND THE WILDY BACK!!!

why dont you make servers where you cant be pked imagine all scamming botters and stuff in wilderness
i would like free trade but not old wildy i voted "yes" for free trade but i dont agree to the idea of old wildy being back.
i want free trade but i want g.es prices to stay the same so player will know if they are being ripped off or not (ex. a player is selling an abyssal whip for 7.5m)

clans killing players who work hard to get their loved items
is just creating terror and chaos.
more clans will joinfight between each other.

I've very recently decided to resubscribe to Runescape after seeing the current poll results. These were the deciding factors in my original departure from the game and I would be incredibly happy to see these changes undone.
