I believe this is good news so far, as it's heading more towards the "old RuneScape." 2007 and earlier was the time of the most players. Jagex made this amazing game. RuneScape has its own unique personality that no other game has; where did that go? I know it's easier said than done, but RuneScape just simply needs to go back to how it was. The amount of players then was huge. That is a sign of a unique game, and I believe this game still has that kind of potential. No Grand Exchange, no *ounty Hunting, no Circus, no hitpoints update, no picture booth, no new Tutorial, no tutorial NPCs, no fancy pictures on the homepage and title page, no cleaners in Varrock, no Summoning, no Daemonheim, no Dungeoneering...

I'm sure some people here remember when those things didn't exist.
Anyhow, I could go on and on, but you get my point. Back to old RuneScape.
Yo whatup I've been on here since 2005 and not plannin on quitting anytime soon. Runescape for life (old school that is)

BRING IT BACK!
People keep saying they got scammed when they were younger, "noobier" players. Well now they are smarter and know how to counter the attacks. Yes I'm sure there will be more scams thought up, but they aren't hard to spot.

Also, everyone is saying it'll be impossible to do clue scrolls and treasure trails anymore because of the wild. Well if you've played as long as I have, you'd know that there were clue scrolls back when the wild was the old wild. That's what made it fun. Now you go and the only thing you have to worry about is a rev. They are too easy.
RuneScape hasn't been RuneScape without the free trade and the old wild. It died the day you guys took it out. Yes there were a few problems, but the good way out did the bad. And I'm sure you guys will get it right this time.

The loss of the wilderness and free trade is what made me stop playing Runescape. It's return may bring me back. I gave it a good try before I decided to throw in the towel, but the truth of it is the game was just so much more fun when it had the freedom that accompanied those two fantastic features of Runescape. I miss the adrenaline rush that came with the wild west the wilderness used to be. You could team, ambush, betray and be betrayed. It was possibly one of the most entertaining experiences I've ever had with a computer. Excluding the obvious!
If you ask me, the whole argument of it "bringing back" real world trade is pretty terrible. There always has and always will be real world traders in games like Runescape. If you think we stopped them then you are mistaken. I've researched it. People pay real money for their accounts to be logged into and for gold to then be farmed for them. It's sad, but there was absolutely no gain from the removal of free trade and the wilderness. However, the loss was gigantic. To me, it felt like the game was put in chains when they did that. I welcome this change with open arms.

look i dont know if a mod will read this but....most people who dont want wilderness back are people who came after it so on behalf of everybody who played runescape before 2007...you have done the right thing...and for people who think they cant do clue scrolls think again clue scrolls were before the wilderness removed and evrybody did them without whining...so stop whining and dont be noobs....

I was scammed and lured as a noob of old. I firmly believe it helped shape me into the rs player i am today and that the reinstation of these two glorious items will be in the best interest of everyone.
Scammed once, you recieved a lesson.Get scammed twice and possibley learn your lesson... if your not too dense to understand it. Get scammed again, umm you know what no more advise at this point.

I think people forget Jagex implemented that low wall (formerly ditch) to help prevent luring by making it so people would know... this is the wilderness, you can DIE here, so don't bring anything you aren't willing to lose in there!.
So long as they keep the Doomsayer warning active, I expect luring will not be entirely prominent, although, there are those players...

Honestly I think it would be a good thing to bring it back more than likely it would bring back many of the old players such as myself who have over time played since runescape classic. I check in from time to time to see what’s new an how things have changed since the creation of this G.E. it killed it for a lot of players and forced them to play other mmo’s , there for when you remove two major components of the game such as free trade an the wilderness you make the game less exciting for many players who end up leaving because the game no longer meets the needs of the gamer an well resulting there is a major loss in profit for the company, on the other hand well some people are like no I don’t want free trade because I don’t like to barter because apparently I need everything set up for me where’s the fun in that when you can get the same things for a cheaper price because someone doesn’t want to wait for it so sell for a normal price due to they want an item really bad whatever it may be which equals less cost for the same stuff or the wilderness yes it can be a pain sometimes ill admit that but honestly aren’t you playing the game for a challenge? otherwise your just grinding through a game without much difficulty pvp is a good example of an exciting challenge that yes can be annoying but adds an new element due to the fact that its always changing to the players mind set of how to out smart there opponents, an just isn’t random programming telling it what to do like any other monster in the game as for scamming people I got scammed ya its no fun an at one point in time or another we have all been there but if you jus* stop an think about it for a lil bit you’ll relies what’s going so use your head an if its to good to be true then well guess what it probably is so don’t be dumb and you’ll be fine .
