I wrote a letter to Jagex on Page 1330, already voicing my opinion. Yeah, I agree, the grand exchange free trade needs to stay in solid place.
If anything, make 2 Grand Exchanges (as I referenced earlier), where there is limited Prices, and unlimited.
(edit): P.S. Not Because of the Merchers, which are very annoying, but because of the fact I don't need to buy marble blocks for 1 million gp, and mahogany planks for 10k. That's the unstability that will bother me.

mental,
Prices were more stable before the trade limit update, players sell the item for what it's worth. There is no price manipulation from merch clans. A player would sell the item for the amount he/she would pay for it. Things were alot cheaper before...
edit: And with the ge you're not going to have to stand outside varrock west bank for hours typing "buying marble block---ishy".

Personally If this goes through, I will probably consider playing this game again. I began playing this game in late 2001 early 2002 with my first character, this one being my second and I believe this account was started in 2003.

The game in my personal opinion took a giant nosedive after the removal of free trade and the wilderness. Runescapes free economy was my main source of income in game. I would spend hours, weeks, even months routinely checking in on player prices in worlds 1 and 2. I would then buy the items that I had kept a personal record of, that appeared to be crashing and come back when the prices had risen and sell for whatever I though was a fair price.
That’s the beauty of free trade. If someone wants to sell something fast for 1k each let them. If someone wants to make a profit by selling slower over a longer period of time for 5 k each let them. It’s truly supply and demand.
Also pking nowadays is a joke compared to the old wilderness. ROFL try running into a bank/ safe zone in lvl 40 wild. It did*’t happen. which was nice. If I’m out there risking 20 mill while pking and the other guy is risking 5 mill. it gets annoying when all he has to do is run 20 feet into a bank. If you want to pk..***.. if you want to be safe with your items, there is always the duel arena. This game was defined by its freedoms, I would like to see these again.

Yes, yes I would. I am a very patient man, and I'll do anything to get what I need. Considering I only have 2 hours usually each day before I have to go to college, I WOULD be patient enought to do that
I usually set items in the Grand Exchange for a purchase, then wait as long as I need to.
P.S. I don't have the time to walk all the way to Karyll, I would have to do more quests because of it.
I even pick up semi-worthless items, and sell them after stockpiling them, because what I total up equals up to 10k or more.

@zer0skillzX...I have read the update over and over and over....so yes, I know, Jagex is looking into things like clue scrolls. And as for the comment about being lazy....I have worked my butt off for everything I got in this game. I don't scam and I don't do PVP, Jagex has never handed me anything. The lazy ones are the ppl that used to sit in the wild and attack someone who worked for the stuff the got.

The people who say that the economy of the game is going to be ruined either were not around in 2002-7 or just don't remember it.
When the free trade was taken away prices started fluctuating and everywhere because manipulation clans started popping up all over the place making things like gold rings cost 60k one day and 40gp the next.
With free trade and wilderness the game was at its most enjoyable and comfortable stage and since the update it just hasn't been as fun to play.
It is certain that immediately after the update (assuming it happens) prices are going to go runabout for a few weeks or months but the economy will stabilise and the Runescape community will benefit.
This update will bring many members back who quit in '07, making jagex more happy and therefore more likely to make us happy in return.
