Some of these posts are just getting rediculous. If you are SO concerned with doing treasure trails or bots, go play Maple Story you big babies.
I honestly don't know what you are left with when you take away the fundamental things that made runescape great from the game. You are left with basically maple story. Lame quests, dungeoneering (Need I say more?) and strict confines that make the game less than desirable.
The only reason any of you nay-sayers are even playing is because runescape used to be fun. Now its a shell of its former self.
Plus the whole multiplying the damage by 10 thing? Thats just wrong. The damage tables havn't been changed by much tbh. In the place of hitting an 18, you hit a 184. Big Deal.

I'm not into PKing. I've always known the wilderness is dangerous so I've never been PKed. The GE was a major improvement for me as it legitimately told me what my items were worth and let me get full value for them. It also lets me get items more easily for an honest price. If they move the activities out of the wilderness and let people PK like before, it doesn't matter to me.
I get really mad hearing about people using bots, and scamming and stuff like that. As long as you're stopping people from cheating and doing shady things, I will keep playing.
I don't like the dungeoneering skill at all. I play it for a long time and then find I have no solution. And honestly, I don't want to team up with other players. I have plenty of fun just playing by myself. I may quit for a few months at a time as I have other things to do, but I like to pay the 5.95 every once in a while and enjoy working on skills to pass the time.
I don't know if this statement helps anything but I just thought I'd express my opinion. I just hope Jagex makes the right decisions to improve the game. Thanks.

I've been playing this game for a long time. I've seen what happens when big updates, like this, happen; and I have to say I don't see a whole lot of good coming out of it. I was around when it got taken away, and of course that was a huge mess.
I personally never PK'd, don't plan on it, so the wilderness and such doesn't effect me. However, changing trade again will effect everyone--effect them, I feel, in a negative way. Prices on rarer items will likely be very unstable for a long time once the GE is no longer the main medium of sales. Not to mention the return of scamming.
As I said, I've been playing a long time and witnessed my fair share of enormous changes. Having said that, though, Jagex has and will continue to have my trust. They've proven to be good at meeting issues at a good middle-ground, satisfying most people.
Good luck with the staff concerned with dealing with this issue. I certainly do not envy you, and I'm sure you'll make the right choices.
**Edit: Upon further thought, I do actually encourage the return of the old wilderness. I never found the whole revenant system too great, anyhow. I remember back in the day doing clue scrolls near Mage Arena, talk about dangerous. Done it before, will do it again. It's not that big of a deal when speaking of Treasure Trails.

Well, firstly if free trade has returned, people will start to scam, espeacially newer players into buying their goods, cheating these people.Secondly the grandexchange can help players to find out the exact price for items preventing them from being scammed
However in the case of item lending,i believe enabling free trade can allow players to loan their goods properly without resorting to "junk" being used
i therefore say that free trade in g.e. should not return but free trade in item lending should return
In the wilderness however,i find that it should not return at all as players going there for treasure trails and other things will be attacked and killed by high level players, not to mention robbed in this case
The bounty worlds are the proper place as players go there at their own risk, like in pvp.
In addition, black unicorns which many people slay including me would find going to the wilderness dangerous
and not worth the risk.
Lastly i hope i made my opinon clear from my point of view :)

After not playing this game for a year or touch the forums, I think it's time to dust of my old account. How i remember the old days getting destroyed in the wild.

Omg!!!! Free trade. Is world 66 coming back?! Fast free laws?? For people who played this game before Dec 2007 know what i'm talking about.
EDIT: And for those who dont know, treasure trails DID exist back when the wilderness was in effect. You just had to world hop and hope a pker wasnt there.

I feel like saying this once and only once.
You know how there are situations where things are either right or wrong? This is one of those situations. Bringing back the old runescape is the right choice.
Also, the loss of pvp affected many people. If you want to speculate on the future of trade, try this on for size: The G.E is a failure. It has spawned merchanting clans which wreak havoc on all items and they manipulate the market so that only a few profit and many suffer. It is a good thing that the max and min prices will be removed.
...that is, unless you like buying items that are falsely inflated (Whips, Furies, any barrow sets, rares, the list goes on and on.)
Bottom line, the game will improve after this update. Quit being wusses and get on with it already. Nothing is solved by filibustering. I swear its like all of a sudden the people that are against free trade have become democrats.

For all the 7% That voted "No", probably haven't experienced the old days of Runescape (The Good Old Days). Runescape was probably the funnest game ever before December of 2007. If you want proof. Look at youtube to see how many people were disappointed on that day. Yes people are disappointed with more updates but not like the one on December 12, 2007.
Here is a list of old runescape events we had back then.
1. Law running.
2. Killing kids that would runecraft in edge.
3. Killing someone with a whip (Actually get loot besides iron sword in return.)
4. Drop parties everywhere around runescape. (Absolutely fun)
5. W18 - World of pkers. (Lots of pk supplies sellers.)
6. No trading limit (Get good deals help out friends)
7. Staking (Wager your money)
8. W2 Falador (Market place for everything)
Much more fun you can't vote "NO!". Seriously you don't no what your missing. ;)

I'm fine with the limits being lifted, but I'd like to see the upper and lower limits of the GE still remain in place, so that we as a community have a more stable idea of how much an item is worth. This would probably be a good idea so that people don't try to get away with something completely absurd, like trying to sell a dmed for 1mil or trying to buy a whip for 500k (as much credit as I give to a vast majority of the players, there are bound to be a few smartasses who are going to try this). I also like having the bar at the bottom to let you know about how even you're breaking with whoever you're trading.
So, my overall point is:
-> Trade interface has no limits (but it has that bar on the bottom)
-> GE has limits
I have no opinion on the wilderness matter, as I do not venture out there regularly enough.
Current goal: all skills 105+ (11/27 completed)
