As far as getting scammed goes, people seem to be lacking understanding in it. I could imagine many are worried that, with free trade returning, they would get scammed like they did in their new days.
For anyone with those fears, look at the picture closely: You we're scammed in your first days on this game BECAUSE you were still a newbie. Its part of the things people learn in this game, I would bet dollars to donuts that ANY high level player (this includes myself) has once been scammed for their items, cash, or lured into the wild and slaughtered.
I would say that people should actually be thankful they got scammed before (I know I am) because what if I reached my level without that knowledge and understanding? Perhaps I would have been reckless with that shiny new godsword? I would rather get scammed with that addy pickaxe vs. something much more noteworthy like an abyssal whip.
When it comes down to it, this update will cause no more threat to you than before with one thing: KNOWLEDGE. Scamming won't be a problem if you don't take offers seemingly too good to be true, and keep sharp on what you are buying. You aren't going to fall victim to a lurer if you just stop and think WHY that wall is even there in the first place.
Needless to say, this update may be more beneficial than just entertainment, by actually causing players to THINK in this game.

from what i have seen around, there are plenty gullible kids around due to lack of experiences or making mistakes that they can learn from it to reduce their mistakes.
let them make mistake and learn from it. i got scammed several times, but here i am? im getting smarter by incidents. im sure that same goes to you guys, but i do get your point though.

@billy Mays. Everything will go down from bandos armour to partyhats, because without pvp's stimulus to the rs economy their will be a lot less money circulating. Which will in turn make prices go down. Instead of being able to camp earning potential you will actually have to be good at pking to make any decent amount of money.

@ Wizinn

Full Supportz.

Once, a guy promised me two obsidian capes for a dragon long and full rune.
Never got 'em.

Traded full Rune for a Dragon Spear.

3 days later, G.E.....

Meh, I'm against this. All this is going to do is bring back the people constantly asking for free stuff. I've already been asked countless times to give away cash stacks, godswords, phats, etc, and the damn free trade isn't even passed yet. Free trade churns Democrats. And let's be honest--if you like player killing, then there are PLENTY of other, better games to "kill" people in. Runescape is last on my list to go out pking.

Coldfire, I've dedicated a lot of time into this game bro. I enjoy pking a lot. Why should other games have great pking and not this one? You make no sense. All you have to say to the beggers is no. My bank is probably 10x yours and im not worried so why should you be?
