I personally would like to see that Free Trade is back. I was planning on giving some gifts to some of my friends for christmas on runescape but because of the trade limit I couldn't. I want to keep the Grand Exchange price window though becuase it makes sure that things will get sold and that younger players don't get scammed into putting up a really bad price. As for the Wilderness, I like it just the way it is right now. I like PVP worlds because there are often no people there. As for if we got rid of them all the worlds would be so crowded. I think runescape would then have to make at least make 10 to 15 new worlds if they took away the PVP and Bounty worlds.

Look at world of Warcraft, now look at runescape. Now look at eve online, bact to runescape. What does runescape lack that makes the other two games more popular?
Ingame mailbox system also known as real world trade. Some players are not under 18 and do not have many hours a week to put into runescape, I am not saying that most people do this but the facts are there.
Runescape will once again become a world run by players.

FredUp who are you to talk about anyones intelligence when you were continually posting points which were countered by myself which you chose then to overlook. You say that people on here are the reason you don't want to have the wilderness back? Well let me inform you then that there are currently 830 active users. Let's say that this is constant and that you get this amount on at every hour of the day, and (I am totally exageratting to make this number larger by the way) lets say that they're on for 4 hours each at a time. So hypothetically speaking there are 4,900 odd individual users that I'm going to pretend exist (there aren't that many, but it's going to prove a point in the long run) and there are 966,525 votes and counting.
That therefore means that the forums contribute to only 0.51% of the voters. Pretty small number to base your opinion on no? People are rude because you fail to back up your issues when faced with the fact you've fabricated information to back them up. Generally 'back in the day' these forums were a pleasant place, the game was a helpful place and the environment was generally a whole lot happier. Care to explain therefore why you think that wilderness will be the end of all manners? It's again a case of you making giant assumptions without any real evidence to back your point up. Without the wilderness and free trade the manners on this game have declined rapidly as many of the older and more mature players who were setting an example have been replaced by the children who came to the game when it was made more "baby friendly".
So don't come on here pretending that you are any different to those you describe in your post. You dismissed my points yesterday as being invalid despite not having one good counter to any of them - or even an attempt at a counter.
The thread is a joke, but only because a small minority of people appear to lack a minimal intelligence required to have sensible debate.
I guess this makes me a bully now... pfft.

Fred,
It's quite annoying how you stay away from discussing things like that. It's always our fault, please look at yourself for a chance. I'd love to argue with you about all this, since i respect your opinion. But you just don't seem to try to understand mine. We won't get anywhere by saying "don't bother them" if only we disagree with you, right?
Thanks for reading,
~Arch

Dear runescaspe users
I don’t know how many of you remember 2007 that well but back then Runescape was over-run with bots and RWT this is a fact so Jagex decided that the fastest way to kill half of these was to get rid of wilderness, free trade and staking in the duel arena this was a very unpopular decision and lost Jagex a lot of players
But despite people threatening to leave Jagex stated that regardless of how much opposition there was they would not be reintroducing the wilderness or free trade.
I respect Jagex for this because instead of seeing the small picture and worrying about the people that might leave and the lost revenue, Jagex could see the big picture and believed this was for the good of the community and was well worth the risk.
Now Getting rid of the wilderness and free trade required several updates including the Grand Exchange which was realised on the 26 November 2007 and revolutionised the way trade worked.
Instead of standing around for hours typing offers/ hoping someone would trade with them people could now teleport to Varrock and walk to the grand exchange and place an offer knowing that they would be added to a list and receive there items as soon as enough sellers were found.
This made selling and buying items a lot faster and let people spend more time doing the thing’s they loved.
Between 2007 and the modern day Jagex have also realised many activities where people can attack one another such as
Bounty Hunter, Castle Wars , Duel Arena, a player-owned house's combat ring or Dungeon, Stealing Creation, a PvP World or Bounty World, Soul Wars, Clan Wars, Fist of Guthix, and the TzHaar Fight Pits.
Which should give anyone enough playing killing options and helped to earn back some of the people they lost In the past.
contiune on next post
