Why, oh Jagex, can we not vote no? :S
And why can any random Runescape name be used? I for one don’t want my name being placed on that list! Surely it would be more effective to have people sign in first?
This game has come on leaps and bounds in the last three years and has had several brilliant updates, but just how much of that would have happened if the ‘old wilderness’ and trading hadn’t have been removed?
I’d just like to highlight some of the things that would be directly affected by the change if it happened:
Corp Beast Slaying and King Black Dragon Slaying: Many players that go to fight these beasts have kit designed specifically for that task, often quite expensive kit. However, to get to the beasts they would have to run through an area of wilderness which will, of course become ripe with Pkers wanting to steal their kit.
Clan Wars: Just getting your clan to the area without a games necklace will become somewhat harder, as many of them may be killed on route.
Penguin Hunting: I don’t know how many of you have tried hunting penguins in a group, but there’s a brilliant, helpful and quite large community that does it everyday of the week. It’s fun and it encourages teamwork and builds that community feeling. Now, should Pkers be aloud back into the wilderness, what will become of wilderness penguin hunting? Frankly, it will become a massacre of people killing the hunters for drops or just for spite (Yes, It happens.).
Agility: Again, the wilderness course will go into decline and become fairly free of players as it will become yet another hotspot for people to kill others who are just trying to train in peace.
Quests: Both of the Summer quests take place in the wilderness, as does one of the Mahjarrat quests, these spots are likely to become hotspots for players wishing to attack more people who are simply trying to go about their business.
