I've never been around when there was free trade and the wilderness, but I'm pretty certain who the majority of those voting these two things back are: RWTers. It's simple: If their business is to skyrocket, then they'll create massive amounts of bots to vote Yes on the poll.
I'd say the poll should only be answered by accounts created before a certain time, and only by accounts that have no black marks. This excludes most bots, which probably form the majority of the voters, and new players, who probably have little knowledge of this whole thing.

I would simply create a poll that can only be voted on by those who are level 50 or higher. Can't make it members-only since it also affects F2P. Can't do it vise versa either. Level requirement would slow them down. Track the number of votes per household too. Limit it to like 10 votes per connection (household). I don't know if anyone like the Duggers play the game (they have a giant household) and so it shouldn't affect negatively against any actual players.

Red I'm sure 100% of the people posting on this forum aren't RWTers so I think you should rethink your thesis.

The voting is done on a separate part of the website. All you have to do is log on and vote. You could have 10s or more accounts and make each of them vote. It is minor, but in mass numbers, it can be big.
It isn't done on the forum. RWTers don't have to post here, because the voting isn't here to begin with.

I honestly think this update could be have just as big of a positive impact as the original update taking the trade limit and wilderness from us. I would %100 agree with this update, but also think this seems strange... The original vote did nothing to show the general feeling on the topic.
Botting? Botting is already such a massive, practically unsolveable issue that this update will and can not make it much worse than it currently is.
It took a while, but Jagex seems to be listening to the community, and i admire them for that :)

For the clarification: I am not a bot, and I would like to have Free Trade and the Wilderness back. That GE (or stock market, as I call it) has created everyone into New York Businessmen. I loved back when there was more verbal communication between players. Sure, you had to spam you were selling an item but you felt more of link to other players. Now, everyone seems cut off from everyone else and the RuneScape community is shrinking from what it once was. Hopefully this will bring more people back. I want to see RuneScape when I first signed up.
Botting will never be gone we might as well make RuneScape pleasurable for the majority.
Plus, I think Jagex knows that if the majority votes for it, and they either don't bring us back or trick us with some sort of EP or another thing we did not know about, there will be a huge uprising and many will quit. I know I will.

I agree with you both. I don't quite believe that it will be the same level of "worse" in regards to the number of RWT and botting, but it is unsolveable. Might aswell make the game fun for the rest of us before we leave the game out of boredom.

im glad that the old wildy is coming back, and so will the other people, and the people that are saying no at wildy and trade limits shouldnt come back, its because you have been scammed once or twice, or you just cant pk tbh, yes, i've been scammed, but. i got over it seriously look how much people play runescape nowadays and look back at 2007 people that played. theres a big difference.
