RuneScape Gods Exposed
Movie Poster Competition
We recently launched the aptly named RuneScape Gods Exposed Monkey Voice Acting Competition , which gives aspiring voice-actors of the RuneScape community the chance to voice the part of a... monkey... in the latest RuneScape Gods Exposed episode 10!

What's a block-buster Youtube movie without some promotion though? That's where you come in.

We've all spent time admiring the posters that adorn the halls of our local Cinema as we wait for our friend to finish in the toilet - they're eye-catching, exciting and give just enough information to make you think 'that looks absolutely marvellous!'. The movie poster that is, not your friend going to the toilet..

We want you to come up with an awe-inspiring poster to shout about RuneScape Gods Exposed episode 10, so we've thrown together another competition which asks you to do just that. Our favourite movie poster will be shown in the RuneScape Gallery and plastered onto our supported fansites for the entire RuneScape community to admire.

Rules
  • No movie poster would be complete without the following basic information, so please make sure you include it in yours:

    - Who made the video (Tehnoobshow)
    - What the video is called (RuneScape Gods Exposed Episode 10)
    - Where the video can be found (www.youtube.com/runescape)

Of course feel free to include any further information you like!

  • Once you're done, save your poster as a recognisable file format (JPEG, GIF, PNG, etc) and sent it as an attachment to the [email protected] email address with the subject 'Gods Exposed Poster'

  • Entries must be submitted by 11:59GMT on the 19th December 2010

  • Images should be no larger than 5MB

  • Your entry must be your own work - please don't use anybody else's without permission

  • All entries must comply fully with the RuneScape Rules and Competition Terms & Conditions

If you haven't already, we'd definitely recommend checking out some of the previous Gods Exposed episodes to give you the general vibe of the series! Unsurprisingly you can find them by simply searching' RuneScape Gods Exposed' on Youtube.

Prizes

Aside from having their poster shown on the RuneSape Gallery and on our supported fansites, the winner of the competition will also receive 12 months of RuneScape membership, a framed copy of their poster, and a Christmas stocking stuffed with Jagex goodies.

Good luck!

FAQ

Q: How many times can I enter?
A: You can submit as many entries as you wish!
Q: Can I hand-draw my poster?
A: Of course, there's no restriction on which medium you use!
Q: I'm no good at art, what should I do?
A: We'd still love you to enter the competition, but don't forget you can also enter the voice acting competition if art isn't your thing!
Q: Can I enter both the voice acting comp and poster comp, and win both?
A: Yep!

Hi guys, we're answering the questions on the thread here so that they're easy to find as the thread gets longer. If you've any more questions, feel free to ask, then just keep an eye on page 1 of the thread. =)

How big does my poster need to be?
It would be good to be able to blow up to A3 size (that’s double the size of A4!) for print outs. Having said that, it’s going to be viewed on a screen mostly so something that looks good on A4 is fine.
Why haven’t you asked for my username?
We’d get in touch with the winner by email (using the address used to send us the entry) and at that point, we’d ask for your username. However, it would be helpful if you could include in your entry email. As for not adding it to the poster, well it’s not essential but if you’d like to sign it, you’re most welcome. =)
Does the poster have to be in black and white or colour?
That’s completely up to you. Black and White has its advantages as it can make things look really classic and classy but then again, full colour really grabs people’s attention. Your call!
What program should I use to make my poster?
Whatever suits you. You can hand draw it if you like, use a computery art package or get your photoshop skills on the go (other image manipulation programs are available! :P ).
Is this a movie poster like you’d see at a theatre or a thumbnail image for the youtube video?
A movie poster like you’d see at the theatre
What format should I use to send my entry?
Whatever works for you. Just as long as it’s no bigger than 5mb and we can open it without having to have some special program or other.
You say the poster has to be all my own work, can I use images from elsewhere?
You’re welcome to use screen shots from game and I’m sure Tehnoobshow wouldn’t mind if you took screenies from previous Gods Exposed videos if you want to include the characters.
Is it an “official” poster?
Hmm, interesting question. It’ll be used as described in the intro. Should the movie be released somewhere that required massive advertising, I think we’d cross that bridge when we come to it.
can I photoscan a picture and send that?
Sure!
