Is it that we are now subconsciously more likely to donate, or become a member of a wildlife charity?
As the 21st century progresses, wildlife conservation and environmental protection will become even more important as the human population continues to grow and consume additional resources.
A lot of young people (teens, 20's, some 30's) play RuneScape (including me). It will be our generation's responsibility to tackle these difficult problems. Jagex's playerbase is the perfect demographic for raising awareness of these issues.
Raising awareness doesn't do much for me. As an example the recent Badger cull in the UK highly publicised with mass complaints and backlash from the general population. Still went ahead and was proven a failure.
Also worth noting badgers are protected under the law making it an offense to kill, disturb them etc. Of course that was ignored when approved by government.
If push comes to shove wildlife will ultimately lose.
Third world countries and emerging countries will not put growth on hold for the environment.
