Please do not call what I have to say inappropriate, especially since you and me both know buddy that there are some pretty pathetic rewards. I don't assume this was your doing, but when outfits were given a vote, the reward to the creator of those outfits was simply a free copy of their outfit. That's outright appalling that a company can't do more for that person. Meanwhile, Jagex is profiting off someone else's design raking in hundreds off someone else's creativity while they get a free outfit they designed, and the rights to their artwork stripped.

Anyone who has won a Golden Gnome or is a community spotlight definitely deserves more also, considering they bring so much revenue to Jagex. They advertise the game by playing it, make people laugh and are appreciated by the community. Giving them anything but free membership is a shame.

Like I said before, I'm positive somewhere in Jagex's software there is some type of API function to give membership, rune coins, etc. It costs Jagex $0 out of pocket expenses to do any of these things. You run the game, afterall. The 50 or so people that enter this competition and spend time and work for something no one else did definitely deserves more praise. Come on now. If your idea of an appropriate reward is one to devalue the achievement players get, you're ridiculous.

9/10 artists really don't care about the prize, hell, a day before this was announced I had sent my art off to the Community Chronicle.

It isn't about the prize. It's about sharing your passion for the game through artistic means.

Calling a J Mod ridiculous doesn't help you either, you look like an idiot to them, and to the rest of us, the moment you slander someone, your whole argument becomes invalid in a traditional forum environment. If you aren't happy with the rewards offered, don't submit anything, and take a teaspoon of concrete.

Maybe it'll help you harden up.

Your opinion. If you're calling me an idiot to the JMod and to everyone else, I can hardly see how you're any better than me, as you're trying to hurt my feelings? Hah, I never slandered the Jmod, I called the rewards ridiculous and him as well for supporting them when economically it doesn't cost Jagex anything to do better. I would definitely argue how that is slander, but you can just look up that word in the dictionary on your own. I made no false claims in an attempt to defame his reputation. Had slander been the true case, I can see how no one would respect my opinion, but it was true facts I laid out and if you're so blind in defending a Jmod to ignore those facts and defend him over nothing to say yourself, I can say you've equally gained no respect.

9/10 artists? If they said there would be no reward less people would enter, and if they made the rewards significant better more people would enter. That's just common sense. If the reward were 1 year of membership you'd see probably twice the amount of submissions, not 10% more. Don't make false claims and then imply i'm a soft wuss because my opinion doesn't match up with yours.

And yet again, you miss the point.

A signed piece of concept art is worth far more than a years membership in my opinion. If they offered a years membership, yeah, the quantity of art would be greatly enhanced, but only because the quality would be compromised.

As for respect, I'm not here to debate you about prizes and how there should be more, I'm telling you you're wrong and you should stop complaining about receiving something for free. Every time someone hosts an art contest, there are people like you complaining from the sideline without even submitting art. People like you contribute nothing to the community but a whiny voice.

I think the 1k runecoins+concept art is a very nice price indeed! And besides that fact, Art is about showing it to the world. That's the biggest price for me.

I hope you are ready for my spiced up Zaros vs Zamorak picture!
