Ok, i agree that the new combat is a little (just a little) too ability based. Funkymage's auto attack duel proves it. Perhaps the combat classes are a little too defined. A ranger should only be at a disadvantage to a warrior, not doomed to die in ten seconds. Rangers need more ways to bind an opponant; perhaps some kind of defensive shot with a range shield? This isn't really combat related, but because of the speed of duel wielding spells you can use 1000 air runes in fifteen minutes from continuously training with it. It would help once the beta is in the live game to have rune prices extreamly low. Like, no more than 20 gp for a blood or death rune. The only problem i see with this is that runecrafters won't make as much money. To counter this, crafting multiple runes could be changed to, say, 100 air runes per essence at 99 runecrafting. Thats about 2,800 runes without pouches, rings, gloves, or anything. Then mages could train magic to 99 without doing high alchamy for hours on end. A similer method could be done to the fletching or smithing skill for rangers. Perhaps more arrowheads per metal bar? Consider this please Jagex, as there could be an Evolution of Skilling too.
(if you're wondering why im writing this while a free player, its because i lost subscription a month ago, just to clarify).
