We've already had some awesome entries, and will begin featuring them on our support channel in the next few days. If you have already submitted a video, keep an eye on your inbox to see if you have been successful.
I highly recommend using a variety of different capturing software.
If you want a direct screen capture (this is software that records everything on your screen) then Camtasia is great for this.
If however you want to record in-game footage and not everything else around it, then FRAPs is an excellent piece of software.
Both of these have free trials so feel free to grab them and try your hand at some movie making!
As far as video editing software is concerned, there is loads of software out there; too many to name. Most operating systems come with some kind of editing software already installed, and although these don't have all the bells and whistles of the high end products, they are more than capable of cutting together your first piece of machinima.

Hey TryPlanB ,
What exactly did you have in mind for this video? The only thing we ask for in any kind of offense appeal is honesty, which probably wouldn't make a very engaging video.
I'll be happy to review anything you send in, however it may be worth clarifying what the content of your video is going to be beforehand; as there are no tips and tricks to getting an account unbanned.
