I don't understand why so many people are so upset. It's about the content in the video, not the quality, so at least having some sort of audio/video capture device is all and they are very cheap.
As for hiding your identity, the only person getting a link to this video is Jagex and no where does it say that it must be public or even on Youtube (as many people seem to assume). You can upload a video, set it to unlisted so only people with the link can view it and then send it off to Jagex -no identity problems whatsoever.
As for people who don't have any audio/video capture device, it's no different than an art contest leaving out people with no artistic ability. It is 45 seconds long in the interest of time, Jagex do not have a fleet of staff ready to watch videos that could potentially take up days (maybe even weeks) of their time.
As for people saying it's a publicity stunt, i disagree. But even if it is, i'd rather the community of Jagex be portrayed by people confident enough to be in front of a camera to represent their community than any other public presence.
Personally, i've entered and i used the low quality built-in camera on my Macbook, it's not much and the video doesn't have piles of creativity but i wanted to be a part of this regardless.

200 million created accounts is really a great achievement. Runescape has been out for so many years now, and it's really well deserved in my opinion.
Thanks to Jagex, and thanks to the community - You make Runescape! :)

I'm not taking part, why?
1) Because It's hardly something jagex should be proud of, as most of this figure is made up of bots.
2) Because my video would be on youtube - youtube being online and available to all. Why should I advertise a game? A game which has rubbish community support, never listens to valid feedback and clearly fails on eradicating bots. Without the large and successful clan and mates I have on-line, I wouldn't be a member any more.

I completely agree with Davram.
They're celebrating 200 million accounts, not 200 million players. It is still an achievment more or less, so don't complain about it. It's not like anybody is losing anything from this.

I do, though, wish it were something other than an actual video. I'd rather film my character. I ain't putting my face on Youtube :/
