Maybe in the future they will do another competition like this one and 'clearly' state (in detail) what is acceptable and what isn't. Or at least break it down into more categories; hand-drawn, paint, basic, detailed, photo, poster, net copy/pasted w/ add-ons, etc..

I found it very hard to pick a few I liked best, more-less one. So I'm sure they did have a hard time picking.

Maybe you should suggest a 'hand drawn' picture competition where you (snail) mail your entries in. Doesn't hurt to suggest it (I don't think but send cookies too just in case!).
