I congratulate you also, Ms. Ghia, on your amazing, fantastical cake. It was, well, let me just say it in more simple words: BEAST, BOSS, and EPIC.

Thanks for the news again Jon and all who worked on it and contributed to it.
I loved the gallery last year (including the hidden penguin) and am looking forward to this year's. Ditto for the Golden Gnome awards which was one of the highlights of RuneFest! Hope I get to see the 5v5 but I guess it depends what else is on at the same time.

Another exciting month, lots of great submissions in there.
That cake is incredible - who ate it?! :P
Once again, I pass on my congratulations to Lebbeh (again), Polymath, Mors et Vita and Yubiusk Inc for their fantastic stories. It's great to see so many players featured in the newsletter. :D
Also, I hope the anonymous person who wrote the poem chooses not to reveal their identity - I love reading poetry from anonymous poets. Having said that, the poet does deserve credit. :)

I just wanted to state how insanely expensive Runefest is.
The weekend ticket alone is listed at £148.00 That is almost $300. That is enough to put a down payment on a CAR.
Then we have the issue of actually GETTING to the UK. For a cheap flight from the US to the UK is about $856 according to the various travel websites.
Oh. You want somewhere to stay while you are thousands of miles from home? $150-$250 a night depending on how fancy you want to get.
What?! You want to EAT?! Guess you better Add another $10-$50 per meal depending on where you want to eat. The lower end being McDonalds.
You say you dont want to walk all over England? You want a taxi or a bus? Well, damn. $10-$15 a MILE depending on the company you use.
So, lets add this all up. The total cost for someone from outside the UK to go to Runefest is approximately... $2326
Holy crap. I knew it would be high, but not that high. That even surprised me.
So, to be clear $2326 would take the average person in the US 2-4 months of saving EVERY PENNY and NEVER spending a dime to save enough for ONE WEEKEND at Runefest.

Just thought I'd sh- Oh wait. That's only for one person?! I dont want to go to the UK alone! I dont know anyone there!
That's $4600 for 2 people.
