Part of the reason I picked the Evil chicken is I like the funny things he says.
If the content has puzzles and a good storyline, and not just combat, I tend to like it more and can overlook the parts I don't like, namely the combat, and enjoy it because of the puzzles and story and fun parts, and a little comedy is nice too if done at the right points, but there also needs to be some seriousness.
I don't like things like the Sorcerer's garden where you get sent back to the start if you fail, and have to keep trying again, that is frustrating not fun.
The Mourning's end light maze was fun, and the machines in the Gnome series quests are fun, Nomad I never want to see again unless I get to drop a monolith on him and get to outwit him but not actually have to have combat against him.
Hallowvale was interesting getting to follow symbols to find the destination.
I can imagine a puzzle where you use magic, melee, or range to reveal symbols, with a few red herrings to lead you wrong if you interpret the symbols wrong.
I liked the underground pass because you had to solve a lot of traps and puzzles to move forward, and could find hidden resources to help you along the way, and there was no bank you could easilly get to meaning you had to rely on what you had with you. That is the sort of things I like.
