Basilisk, the answer to that is found on the front page of the thread in News & Announcements.
You may work in a group, but you'd have to decide how to split the prize. I believe you can bring one other person to Jagex HQ if you win, but if you're under 18, that must be a parent/guardian.

"Q: Can I use music that I didn't make and record myself? I'm good with the guitar and piano, but I need some serious bagpipe-age for my idea to work.
"
YouTube are quite strict on what musics used lately, so yes this would breach copyright so chances are the sound would be removed from the video.

Got a great idea lined up!
Hopefully i can enjoy watching some great video's like the last machinima competition.
Good luck to all!
Tips:
Good screen recorders:
Camtasia (This is the one I personally use, It's one of the easiest to use, and each file doesn't take up too much memory, the quality is also very good.)
Fraps (This is the best quality screen recorder, there is a downside though. Fraps is only effective if you have a decent computer. Each file you record tends to eat away at your computers memory
)
Hypercam - (This was the 'Old skool' screen recorder, this was first really used in the earliest videos. The quality of this screen recorder is poor.)
Tip if you are using Hypercam and Sony Vegas:
To get rid of the Unregistered Hypercam, (Or Hypercam registered/Hypercam Gold) text in the top left hand corner of your recorded video file, import the file into Sony vegas, (File/Import/Select the file) And Right click on the file you have just imported (This will be found on the timeline) and select pan/crop. You can then play around with the zoom of the clip.
Audio Files:
Audacity - This is a very good piece of software for voice clips, you can edit them using this program too.
Camtasia - Some people don't really know this, but when you record on Camtasia, you can also record your voice. Do this by loading up the Camtasia Recorder, and then clicking on the audio setting, you can then alter the volume at which your voice will be played at when it's recorded.
I hope this has been helpful, I'm not a videomaking god, (Millions of miles from it) but i've been making RSMV's and other video's for years. Good luck to all who enter!!

Q: Am I aloud to use more than one skill in the video?
I'm pretty sure you can do anything you want in Runescape to "sell your item of choice" in your advert. Use as many skills as you like.

Q: if i uploaded and sent a link to Jagex already but the name of the vid wasnt right, can i reupload the vid and send the new link, in a way that it will replace the old link?
@Basilisk
You could, or you could just make your video now with HyperCam. You don't need to use the Orb of Oculus for your video, it only helps you to move around the screen as if it's a free-view camera. It will help to record actors in your video, without the angle at which you'll have if recording without it.

How do you mean name of the video wasn't right? As in the name you gave it on YouTube?
If you go into the drop down menu at the top right of the YouTube screen, click on "My Videos" you should be able to find the Machinima video and click on "Edit Video" giving you the chance to edit the title of it.

Hey, another vid competition!
Just one simple question:
Can I edit the video with my vid editing software to make it look like something runescape related, or does it have to be flat out something that already exists within runescape?
If that wasnt clear enough, PM me. I'll give you my exact idea. Dont want to post it here because it would get stolen indefinitely
