If you use Audacity to record lines then you should also get LAME for it, that will allow you to export files from audacity as MP3

Just a question though, do you want the voice to be unique and creative? or more of a normal voice, like if I just recorded my own voice?

Another question:
What is the monkey's personality? Is he supposed to be funny, serious, stupid, smart? Because that kinda makes a different if we're supposed to be his voice. Like if he's stupid you'll probably want him to sound stupid?
