State of the Kingdom: Misthalin

Keep track of the state of the Kingdom of Misthalin here!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Misthalin, the situation is dire.

The Capital of Varrock is under strain. Misthalian victims of the war flock to the safety of the city's walls in droves, only exacerbating the unrest in the city. Consequently, the criminal underworld here is flourishing and gives Al Kharid a run for its money. In an attempt to alleviate the situation, much of the Misthalian army has been deployed to the streets to maintain order and strict curfews are enforced at night.

In Lumbridge, the situation is no better. Goblins have pillaged and ransacked East Lumbridge, effectively halting most traffic between Lumbridge and Varrock and Al Kharid. The Duke, fearful for his own life, has shut himself inside his keep and barely anyone venture in and out of the keep's gates. Much of the citizenry would be defenceless in the wake of another Goblin attack.

The Count of Draynor has found himself with the most arduous task of establishing order along the Asgarnian border, where Misthalians regularly attack Asgarnian traders and farmers, usually in retaliation for similar attacks on their own soil. The Count has done little up to this point, any many peasants are getting fed up with his idleness, increasingly mobs gather outside Draynor Manor to demand action and that the Count makes an example of the Asgarnians.

State of the Kingdom: Asgarnia

Monitor the situation in Asgarnia here!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Asgarnia is on the brink of civil war.

Although Falador itself has remained a semblance of order, with the White Knights strictly regulating traffic in and out of the city, preventing a situation similar to in Varrock, internal strife is mounting.

In the North, the Zamorakian Kinshra who have long eyed the city of Falador like a prized jewel for the taking remain silent. For many of the peasants in the north, it's an eerie silence and more and more fear an impending attack.

And in the South, Rimmington and Port Sarim struggle to cope with the pressure of an influx of people, both desperate peasants hoping to flee the carnage of war in a ship cargo hold to some far off land and enterprising adventurers looking to make a coin during the current shortage of able bodied, experienced individuals.

Lastly, the Crown Prince of Burthorpe, who still lays claim to the throne of Asgarnia, has recently threatened to march south through Taverly to Falador should the Knights fail to control the influx of adventurers from Port Sarim and eliminate the Goblin settlement in the north, after witnessing the carnage in Lumbridge. Asgarnia seems on the brink of civil war.

State of the Sultanate: Al Kharid

Keep track of the shifting of sands in Al Kharid!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Al Kharid has weathered the storm.

It seemed neutrality was indeed the best policy during a decade of war. The twin Kingdoms of Saradomin, Misthalin and Asgarnia are devastated by their war, meanwhile Al Kharid remains relatively unscathed. Perhaps suffering a little from reduced trade with the Western Kingdoms, but the population is by and large untouched by the devastation.

The Sultan still struggles to grapple with a bustling criminal underworld and black market practices, exacerbated by war between Misthalin and Asgarnia, but this is largely an issue for the Al Kharid guard.

Furthermore, the more superstitious denizens of the city have been grumbling of seeing strange figures in the desert, men made of sand - an omen perhaps, or something to scare young children, who is to say whether something is dwelling out there amongst the sands.
