I wish the guide was still in your hands, Maedalaane. Not trying to attack you with my findings but if it’s seen as one sorry. It was a coincidence because I thought this was his version of the guide.. Feel free to comment on my comment if it is about bits you wrote, Maedalaane.

New poster here, no I'm not an alternate account. I'm not here for the drama.
I've read both guides before in the past, but with the whole feedback discussion popping up here, I figured I'd give both a thorough read.

While I appreciate the attempt at an extended roleplay guide, I feel like the more streamlined approach of Croconut's guide makes for an easier understanding of "How to" roleplay. Additionally, much of the extended content on this thread seems to vary from person to person, making it an unreliable guide.
My only suggestion for these two threads would be to de-sticky this one and let it die, followed by the creation of a stickied Q&A thread for people looking to ask questions about roleplay that may not be included in a roleplay guide.

What I'd like to see, which hasn't gotten much attention, is a thread on "How to make a character".

I have not turned around. The things I said should still deserve to be looked at even if they are not your own content, Ridaku. I just wanted to make sure Maedalaane wasn't offended or thinking I was after her. Just shows that the things you do change turn out to be better than the things previously put out there and I hope it motivates you to actually make some changes and look at the things I posted before.

I also like the idea a lot of having a stickied Q&A thread on which everyone can just post their questions seeing as I made my own thread a while ago instead, this could have been handy. Also a how to make a character thread would be something I'd sticky over this, but not sticky over the ultimate catch up guide. Depends on how the create a character thread is build up.

The ultimate catch-up guide is mostly only useful for PoK roleplayers. Much like any lore, full knowledge isn't required if you're not going to be metagaming every encounter. I don't think the thread deserves a sticky, but nothing is stopping you from bookmarking it.

Adding on to the "How to create a character" thread idea: This could also be a place for people to post their character info, either for help in creating their character or for simply showing off the character they created to give others ideas.

That would be the RSRP wiki! I linked it in the first post, and there are several helpful guides on there + templates that help you create a good-looking character page (which is why nothing like that exists on the forums. Additionally, threads on here can only go up to 2,000 posts unless hosted by a j-mod, and they eventually get erased.) The Sicarius |
