A simple letter arrived at Camelot, adressed to Lysanna Calderon with the word "urgent" hastily scrawled across the front.

Though not fully rested, I believe this issue will be resolved much more efficiently the quicker it is acted upon. First and foremost; those behind what occured yesterday. A goblin that was questioned mentioned the 'skull faced masters' forcing them to butcher the civillians living in the village. This, along with overwhelming evidence of elven involvement would make one think that the Iorwerth clan had some sort of hand in this. While combating the creatures, I was able to very briefly form a connection with them, and through it, I felt their great hunger for anima. The plants seek to consume anything living and drain it entirely. With that in mind, I'd advise that all your men begin carrying something they can easily start a fire with, should the need arise.

While the connection held, I was also able to glimpse a scant few memories, extremely old ones at that. Within, there was some sort of fallen kingdom, a great many elves, both dead and dying. This was their final act of 'survival', if one could even call it that, though it soon became twisted into little more than revenge. Given the ores we made note of, perhaps your elven allies dug up something that should've remained lost?

While the suggestion of your knight; that the slaughter was an attempt at growing a bloodwood tree, first seemed plausible, I now firmly believe this is not the case. While it's true they only grow in places that have been home to great bloodshed, these saplings were being grown directly inside the bodies found within the town hall, both elven and human.

While we seemed to have effectively purged that village of any growth related to these trees, some of the bodies lacked saplings. It's very possible that some were taken elsewhere, and your men should be on high alert, in even the smallest of towns. The dead need to be burned, as does any strange new growth, should anything be spotted anywhere within your kingdom. Should you have need of me for matters relating to this, I am, for now, residing in the Inn to the north of Ardougne Palace.

A courier under escort would patiently wait for Kaladin Aren at the said inn bearing a royal missive. It was the princess' reply.

It's good to know you're doing well. Apologies for sending this later much later than I anticipated. Something else had me occupied that could help with the situation.

Your findings along with mine are becoming too worrying and the way Baxtorian's human workers were dismissed... the timing just doesn't sit well with me at all. Nevertheless, I believe we could coordinate better if you are near Camelot. I've arranged for your stay here in the castle if it's not too inconvenient for you to travel here. I've a sapling sample with me and I think it's best that everyone knowledgeable on these things should study it further.

\/
Host: Lianna

\/
Date: 8th of April

\/
When: 6 PM Eastern.

\/
Where: Miscellania

\/
Who: 1-3 Guardsmen or Mercenaries.

\/
Synopsis:
The return of the Baxtorian workers carried much promise, and of course wealth, to their respective families. Fate however had other more sinister plans for some as a storm waylaid the ferry by name of The Mother's Favored carrying many returning workers. The ship never arrived to port.

A pair of fishermen reported to have seen a derelict ship matching the Favored's features heading for the group of islands called Sigurd's Isles north of Camelot near Fremennik waters. Strangely enough, the trading towns and villages on said islands gradually grew quiet in a matter of days. Most of the initial response of local authorities were halted under a royal order. Rumor has it that the princess of Camelot and her retinue is on her way as she deemed this a special case and the heavy presence of Camelite navy so near to Fremennik waters might complicate matters further.

This session calls for both stealth and combat with time and character investigation/scouting skills crucial factors to success. The event is
dangerous
that even though death is consensual, given the nature of the enemy, defeat doesn't warrant only death but could present more unlikable consequences to characters involved.

Those who have characters that participated in the first plot of the arc (see Once Unearthed on p12) are highly encouraged to join.
