I think the reason it died last time was because the community was relatively inactive - no wait everyone just went to the wizard's tower fc and that's why. But there's no power tower anymore.

Didn't work the last umpteen times.

Probs wouldn't work again. Same reasons others like Jimbo/Lor have stated. Would it be cool? Sure, if it actually worked in practice they way one would think it would in theory. Great way to communicate spur-of-the-moment roleplays, like the ones I tend to pull myself into if I've got the time for an RP.
