An envelope containing a letter addressed to the Duchess of Lumbridge and her advisors would arrive where one might expect official correspondence. Its wax seal emblazoned the symbol of the Lavelle family; the eagle, with its wings spread and talons clenched. The letter itself seemed to be penned by a secretary to the Grand Chancellor of Varrock, and upon its pages, the delicate handwriting read:
"Your Grace, Menia, Duchess of Lumbridge, and advisors,
As chief secretary to Her Most Serene Excellency, Grand Chancellor of Varrock, Joanna Lavelle, I, Marilynn Holder, have been informed to extend greetings from her government to yours, and the people of Varrock, to yours. With her recent election to the office, she believes that it is in the best interest of all were she to reveal her political dream most paramount while she may exercise the powers to do so; that the borders of our republic be open to trade with others, especially those that are her closest neighbors, and gift a diverse and free market for business to arise from every part of the world and back.
Her Most Serene Excellency would be most delighted to receive your delegation in our city of Varrock designated to discuss the relations of our two nations, with hope to establish prosperous agreements which would be beneficial to the future of Misthalin as a whole. Her Most Serene Excellency would also like to extend an offical invitation to our Snowflake Festival, celebrating Wintumbertime in Gielinor, in Varrock, to Your Grace, and to your advisors, with the hope that people from all corners of the world may come to celebrate the merry holiday with ours in a moment of peace and joy.
Awaiting your word with utmost enthusiasm, Her Most Serene Excellency wishes you and yours a very merry Wintumber season,
Chief Secretary to HMSE, Grand Chancellor of Varrock,
Marilynn Holder
