that's a lot of territory burthorpe has. i'm glad that perimeter wall they put up to show the end of burthorpe's land isn't limiting to how much you grab for burthorpe.

Going to say this only once.

Not on my thread. Take it somewhere else.

P.S.
Somewhere in the middle of all that there's a bunch of Renderra territory IIRC, which you may or may not run into Nat about.

I had told Myles that I wasn't breaking my primary RP group into two canons. It's Hub-canon only. He had asked before making the map and I declined, because of this.

If you want any IC explanation for their absence, feel free to talk to me ingame or on discord.

It would be felt through the northern parts of the Valley, the Imperial Guard was on the move.

Rumors spread left and right on what the new King was calling the Guard up for, but their base camp near the Barony of Steindorf was growing larger each day. Wagons full of supplies being driven up the steep slopes and mountain paths as King Baldwin seemed to be planning his first military expedition against the trolls.

Even cannons, under the dark of night, being driven up by horse and man alike to key spots along the Barony.

No offical news came from the Palace, rumors running rapid for how the King will deal his hand against Burthorpe's oldest enemies.

--------

This will be the background start for the first major "plot" for the Kingdom. The idea of a military campaign into Troll Country to battle for Death Plateau and key ore deposits to bring much needed aid to Burthorpe's economy.

Watch out for more updates as deals are worked out with the Chosen Battalion remnants. The "plot" will be a mix of a classic set of battles with a second hand underlying story beneath the surface.

Allowing for a less centralized planned story plot that is held back from independent thought and for a single character to change the course of the entire Plot line.

Look out for more in the coming week!

HM Treasury

With the Great Survey completed, the Crown had in its possession every form of property owned by all corners of Burthorpian society, recorded down and used to calculate more appropriate taxation, which had been overlooked in previous administrations.

The Crownlands

The King's personal lands remain vast and underdeveloped. Despite there being valuable fiefdoms in Burthorpe in existence, which provide a steady income for the Treasury, Crownlands located in the Blackmarch are largely untouched swathes of forest. Though the development of these lands aren't without expense, the Treasury advises His Majesty to act in improving economic potential in these areas.

Despite this, it is within the Treasury's understanding that His Majesty may have deep appreciation for the splendour of our country. Thus we advise the establishment of 'Royal Forests' to serve the King's pleasure, where precious game is protected by law in reservation for the King's activities.

Customs Duties

After extensive review, the Exchequer has found that corruption is rife in the docks and customs offices, and have taken the liberty to sack staff deemed unfit to uphold their duties. As new customs officers are hired and trained, we expect tariffs to be paid in full.

Vassals

His Majesty's more prevalent vassals, who hold dominion over more prosperous lands are, surprisingly, the most supportive in providing tax revenue. The Exchequer has found that the lower aristocracy has failed to assess the value of their lands and the properties of their tenants aptly, thus have failed in providing appropriate revenue. To challenge this, the Exchequer shall consult the Great Survey to estimate suitable taxation and shall continue to conduct surveys every five years, as stated beforehand.

A more pressing issue is of the existence of several barons in the Blackreach who refuse to pay their obligations to the Crown, and thus are in open rebellion against His Majesty. The Exchequer strongly advises action against them and their insolence against Burthorpe and its Monarch.

Conclusion

The Exchequer estimates that, through these reforms, revenue will increase from an inadequate 90,000, to 130,000 annually. However, further revenue is possible with the advice given on economic reform in the Crownlands, greater use of the mineral wealth of the White Mountain Range as well as stimulation for greater manufacturing capabilities.

Kaeso Del'Vair, Marquess of Vairton, is to step down as Chancellor of the Exchequer is to step down with immediate effect. The selection of a new Chancellor is at His Majesty's pleasure.

Signed,

Kaeso III Del'Vair, Margrave of Vairton and Chancellor of the Exchequer

Character Name:
Daiyu Wen
Race:
Human (Eastern)
Religious Views:
Eastern Ancestral Worship
Occupation:
Golemancer/Technician
Appearance:
Fair skinned, raven haired, Daiyu is the stereotypical Eastern delicacy. Standing at 5'4, Daiyu is a nimble and agile Death Lotus associate, wearing light-weight yet common eastern robes most of the time, though masquerading in her "Black Jade" armor in combat, an exoskeleton housed in leather armor with decorated and functional metal plating. This armor comes with an enchanted mask that allows her to see through the eyes of her bird-like golem scouts.
Personality:
Daiyu is a friendly yet incredibly crude humored foreigner, often not understanding the formalities of the west outside of the drunken sailor's etiquette. She pays respects to her ancestors and thus respects the dead, uttering no words of malice against them, even if she was the one who took their lives.
Biography:
( Tell us your story.) Daiyu was raised a golemancer in service of the Death Lotus, as were her ancestors before her. Like her ancestors, she is named after a gem or precious metal which signified their specialty. Her own name meaning Black Jade, she became a notorious asset of the Death Lotus in their countless ventures and schemes. She headed west to advance her family tradition as a geomancer, and ventures over the mainland of Gielinor.
Joining or Guesting in the CC?:
Guesting.

I don't consider myself a hypocrite, and if I will say landclaims are silly so there can be two Kandarins, landclaims are silly and we can have two (three?) Asgarnias. But the Hub can't acknowledge not-NPCs, given the lore restrictions that it was formed as a result of.

All of this said, Dan has asked you (us?) all to take the argument somewhere else. If you think you're defending the Hub by attacking Dan/Myles, you aren't. If you're attacking the Hub, because people who support it are doing silly things of their own accord, then kindly shut it, so Dan can do his thing.

Wish you luck, Dan. Even though we are certainly not RPing together, it's not out of bad blood. It's out of canon/continuity issues.

Even though there's no arguing here, same applies. Consider it a preventative measure, and hope luck finds its way Myles.
