Dancers, troubadours, strongmen, oh my! So many entertainers fill the city streets that crossing from one district to another is a battle in and of itself, what with all the foot traffic. Multiple venues have been built throughout Falador to accommodate the large turnout. With war looming, today citizens are encouraged to cut loose; attendees, regardless of race, station, or creed, can expect vittles and performances free of charge. Select few will even receive the honor of dining with the lords and ladies of the realm, including Her Majesty and His Royal Highness. "Ptolemos, the friendly, informative Mahjarrat."

Black Shadows & White Whales

Though the war drums are beginning to sound in the east, Prince Jacob has found himself disproportionately distracted by reports of a shadowy monster butchering its way through the woods of northern Asgarnia. Though he hides it well the tales have sparked a few old unpleasant memories that he feels the need to deal with.

To resolve this matter the Prince has agreed to host a royal hunt, one directed at bringing the beast down. The adventure begins in Falador square with the questioning of one of the few survivors ever to witness the creature.

All volunteers, questers, hunters & adventurers welcome.

(Note: although the hunt may take place over multiple RPs it will be considered as a single short trip that allows characters to also participate in the upcoming monolith battle)

The night following the blunder that was the meeting between Craven Company representative Benjamin and Falador's Queen Rosaline:

Fifteen ships, comprised of seven Clipper ships, five frigates, and two bombard ships departed from Karamja's northernmost port, making way for Asgarnia's western/south-western docks. The bustling military port of eastern Karamja roared to life as men from all nearby encampments flooded through the port's battlements. Sailors, soldiers, and civilian supporters alike poured onto a multitude of ships that arrived and just as quickly departed for their new station. Thirty-six ships in total made departure, seven to take the place of the quick reaction fleet at Karamja's northern dock while the remaining twenty-nine made way for Port Sarim.

The two detachments that were quickest to get on their way would not have been last of what was to come. Still, even as things seemed to calm down at the northern docks, Karamja's military port was still brewing with activity, departure crews prepared more ships for travel; filling them with supplies and ammunition. The small docks dotted along Karamja's coasts on all sides saw a slight uptick in activity as scouting clipper-ships departed to ensure the sovereignty of their waters remained intact. Doubly so, soldiers that weren't dispatched from their reprieve to fulfill their naval duties were sent additionally to fortify the forts that dotted the coasts, most primarily upon the northern and eastern fronts.
As all was falling into place privateers bearing allegiance to James Craven were summoned and began their way to make service in joining alongside the Karamjan Defense Force's fleets. Despite the massive show of force that was now to be displayed to Asgarnia, the ships did not take to assaulting any vessels flying the flag of Asgarnia or her allies. Instead they moved to draw a very distinguishable line, blocking access to all incoming and outgoing ships that sought to do so.

-- They did not attack without charge, but were primed and ready to fire upon any that did not heed their warnings or sought to disrupt the forming blockade. If they managed to their position, ships would no longer be turned away, rather they would be charged a fee of entry to access the Asgarnian ports. The glimmer of spyglasses shone on the horizon to any that were within view as the crows nests of each ship scanned and watched vigorously for any and all passersby. Additionally, ships that didn't arrive with a suite of mages originally were eventually supplemented as scryers and destruction mages teleported in to take their stations. Notably, any with a particularly keen eye might've spotted small green figures clinging haphazardly to the bottom of ships at random.

The aged behemoth was angered, and it was bearing its teeth.

Just as quick as they arrived to assert their dominance, the Craven Company naval detachment progressively departed Asgarnian waters. The toll they levied to each passing ship now lifted and shipped home, and one by one the ships left their posting to make way back to Karamjan territory. This would not be the end of watch for the crews aboard these ships though, as the ships docked each member of them departed. Though those men did not return to their barracks nor take leave, instead they all formed into ranks, becoming crew of ships that were already stocked and ready for another voyage, another duty. Not long after they were crewed, these newly supplied ships were sent out again. This time though they did not head north to bully their Asgarnian neighbor, instead they headed south. Far along Karamja's southern borders they began to patrol. From the grand island's south-eastern border to the desert's west, and from the island's south-western border to Feldip Hill's east they patrolled. It was little known what they were looking for, but they watched, valiantly As amassed as those two fleets were in these places, Karamja's southernmost border seemed light. The coasts of the Kharazi jungle were left mostly unguarded, untouched, save a few clipper-ships that patrolled east to west, to and fro on regular guard.

This was not all to say that Asgarnia was off the hook. Even with the primary departure of the leading blockade fleet going to their new posting, some ships remained to keep watch until more arrived to do no more than patrol and maintain the sovereignty of Karamja's waters. Likewise a detachment remained at the shipyard until a more permanent fleet could take its place. No longer though did they impede any passing ships so long as they did not seem suspicious.

The previously regarded privateers and pirate fleets were released from their charge and sent back to doing what they did best. The isles coastal land and forts returned to normal operating capacity, bar some on the north and eastern fronts that maintained a watchful defensive line towards Asgarnian waters. Many remaining footsoldiers returned to their leave and regular training, while a smaller detachment was sent to fortify positions along the Kharazi jungle's northern hills. Cannons were set in place, trenches were dotted with men, and small parties were set out to lay traps not far into the northern reaches of the Kharazi. " Good maps make good plans ."
