"Alright son, I think it's time I finally taught you your history, and the history of this family. I know you're tired, but please listen, and remember it well."
With that, Andrew Casso sat down on the small, twin-size bed where his son sat. In the corner were the remains of a box with wrapping paper, and a wicked-looking staff hidden away in the shadow of the fading day. Garrus looked up at him with curious brown eyes, a sense of admiration easily visible from them, though hidden by his struggle to remain awake. He looked no more than 13, and his onyx-black hair grew wildly from his head.
"Where to start...? Hmm, guess I'll start with the very beginning. It all started after the god wars, probably less than a year or so after they ended. The Wilderness, also known as Forinthy, (as you /hopefully/ remember for your exam) was destroyed, and various members from all sorts of factions got together and abandoned their titles, nationalities, and even their names to start fresh. I suppose it was due to the horrors of the war, but it could have easily just have been because they didn't want to return to their previous lives. Anyways, the principles they made sure to emphasize were Brotherhood, Honor, Integrity, and Respect. These principles guided them to fame and wealth. Throughout most of the fourth age, they maintained the respect, nay, commanded it from all civilization. They served as peacekeepers. They were lords and ladies, barons and baronesses. Warriors, mages, and archers."
"What happened dad?" Garrus yawned, fighting back sleep in the interest of finally hearing where he came from. He had asked many times of the past, and was always met with the same response; "When you're older." Today, however, was his 13th birthday; officially a member of house Casso according to his father.
