BANG!

The sounds of explosions and screams filled the air. Katrina stood on her tower balcony overlooking the castle gardens once beautiful and filled with exotic vegetation, now filled with death and hatred. Below her, roughly 10 stories, her guards and kinsmen fought valiantly against the hordes of a rival Casso faction. Many wielded their weapons of power, while some unfortunate soldiers made do with standard steel. Katrina sighed, turned around expectingly to the door to her chambers, a heavy wooden door bolted twice over with steel rivets. She knew, however, this wouldn't stop them from invading. ~Let them come,~ she mused, venturing off into thought.

Her chambers were placed at the top of castle Blackbrick's tallest tower, which stood in the middle of the castle grounds and overlooked all the surrounding areas. The castle was named as such because of the ever-present snow, which, thanks to its ******-white coloring, made the brick look a dirtied black or gray. The tower, of course, was massive even for a tower built into an already-impressive castle. The spacious interior allowed her ample room to practice her sparring and meditation, while still maintaining a full catalog of furniture. To the right of the door from the entrance sat her bed and dresser, as well as her nightstand and chest, which sat at the foot of her bed. Across the large room was her massive mirror, as well as an area for bathing. Above her mirror, a banner bearing her faction's symbol, a furious black and red dragon. Almost a constant presence in her room was her steward Mars. He appeared to be in his mid-60's, and paced around in a worried fashion. ¸¤·.¸.·¤´˜¨Live and let Die¨˜´¤·.¸.·¤¸

Suddenly, a gentle knocking was heard on her door, followed by the thing being blown off its hinges. It fell heavily to the floor, and revealed a company of men, led by a young man with striking blond hair wearing a pecular cuirass. He looked to be about 6 feet, and in his right hand was a standard steel sword. Katrina, however, stood at 5"7 with crimson red hair, of which she was very proud. Suddenly, the man with the blond hair spoke up.

"Katrina. It's been too long. Care to make this easy?"

"Lance. I was really hoping you'd just trip back down the stairs and break your neck."

"Come now dear, is that really any way to talk to family?"

"You're no family of mine. Although, I'm surprised someone as weak-willed and stupid as you managed to make it this far. Still, it's a very risky move to attack a family elder."

"You're no elder. You're younger than I am, for Saradomin's sake. Speaking of, how about you hand over that axe of yours to someone who's actually fit to wield it."

"You came here just for Reddo? Sorry, but you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands."

The young man laughed heartily at this, and retorted immediately after.

"That won't be hard. You may have had it commissioned, but you're far too small to wield something that heavy. Hell, I doubt even Ward could wield something like that monster."

Katrina casually made her way over to her mirror. She grabbed the edge and spun it around to reveal a large, devilish-looking axe with several teeth built into it. It looked menacing and rather heavy.

"You don't think I can wield my own axe?"

"I know you can't, dear. It must'** seemed like a good idea at the time to make such a menacing-looking axe to cement your place at the head of your faction, but it was stupid in the long run. Give it here, so I can make good use of it and become the Casso destined to don Invictus." ¸¤·.¸.·¤´˜¨Live and let Die¨˜´¤·.¸.·¤¸

As he finished talking, Katrina pulled the axe from its hold. It nearly fell to the floor, but she held it, barely, above the ground. She put her hands on the handle of the axe and sneered at the effort.

"That's adorable. Dodge, Gallet, kill her."

Two men in decorated armor rushed past him, drawing their sword as they ran. Katrina just barely managed to lift the axe in time to block their blows, but her knees buckled and she was forced to kneel under the pressure.

"Look at you Katrina, you can't even stand! This really is a sad display. You two, finish her."

Katrina suddenly grinned widely, and her axe glowed. From the faux-mouth, a blast of energy emerged and blasted the two men off their feet. Katrina wasted no time. With one quick movement, she spun around and decapitated the two men in a splendid display of gore and poise as they attempted to get up. Lance, nearby, raised his arm in shock, but quickly regained his composure.

"Are you forgetting Katrina? I've got a trick up my sleeve too."

With that, he stepped into the room. Katrina held her axe over her shoulder with ease, and wiped the blood from her face with her free hand.

Lance wasted no time, drawing his sword and hacking at her. Although Katrina should've had great difficulty managing her massive axe, Lance found himself at a disadvantage as she blocked each of his sword's swipes. Had she been even slightly strained, she'd have been dead, yet she held the axe with such great poise and strength that one might have thought it made of paper. When he finished his barrage, he backed up several steps and caught his breath while Katrina watched him with a grin just as devilish as her axe. She grabbed it with two hands and slammed it down overhead. Lance quickily blocked but found the effort took all his might.

"What's wrong Lance? You seemed so confident. Maybe your sword's the problem? Here, let me fix that for you." ¸¤·.¸.·¤´˜¨Live and let Die¨˜´¤·.¸.·¤¸

She grabbed her axe firmly and lifted it up, only to slam it back down and shatter his sword. Luckily Lance responded quickly, and crossed his arms so as to block the axe with his armor. It held back the axe, and Katrina retreated several steps. Lance breathed heavily, but regained his composure and grinned.

"I prepared for this. I took all variables into consideration when I invaded. You, however, could never have prepared for this. Behold Viscus, in the hands of a master!"

With that, he twisted a piece of his armor around his wrist. He winced with the pain but got over it swiftly. He then held out his hand, and two blobs of twisted flesh were spat out and onto the floor. Each began to take shape, mimicing Katrina's exact shape and even her axe. When complete, both faceless abominations faced Katrina, while Lance kneeled near the door, exhuasted.

"Kill her!" he exclaimed, panting soon after. Each began to rush at her, one slashing horizontally while the other went for a vertical slam. Katrina responded immediately, dodging the vertical slam and blocking the horizontal slash. She found her axe clanged as it collided with the bizarre flesh-and-bone axe. As the other creature recovered, she kicked the creature she was currently engaged with in the stomach-area, and spun around to split in half the other creature, which fell to the floor sickeningly. It bled all over the ornate rug which decorated the floor, and Katrina turned to face the final creature. It ran back at her, and swung its axe diagonally. Katrina blocked it and returned the gesture, which was blocked as well. The two exchanged various blows, equally matched, until Reddo glowed again, and this time threw the creature several feet backwards. Katrina pounced on this opportunity, and brutally slammed the axe through the torso of the creature which, thanks to the axe's size, was nearly split asunder vertically. Blood poured out of it like a fountain, and Reddo readily sucked it up. ¸¤·.¸.·¤´˜¨Live and let Die¨˜´¤·.¸.·¤¸

"It's over, Lance. I win."

"Your arrogance makes me sick."

"Arrogance would imply I can't back up what I say. Your stupid little play failed, and what's more is that you just fed Reddo a large dosage of blood. Artificial blood, perhaps, but it was made from Casso blood. You can guess what happens next."

"No.. No!! No No No No No!!!! It isn't supposed to end like this!!!"

"Time's up, Lance. Consider this an honor; you'll be the first person to die by Reddo, but you won't be the last. I think after I finish you I'm going to head down and personally eliminate your army for being stupid enough to follow an animal like you."

Lance, furious, rushed at her. She easily blocked the blow with her axe, which immediately began to glow and threw him back, against the weapon stand which previously held Reddo. Lance stood, unable to recover quick enough, as Katrina delivered a diagonal blow to his chestpiece, which held, barely, and cracked directly down the middle. Lance looked down and almost breathed a sigh of relief, before looking into Katrina's icy blue eyes.

"It's been fun, Lance, but I hate you." With that, she grinned evilly and gripped her weapon tighter before yelling at the top of her lungs;

"REDDO! REDIRECT!!"

The weapon glowed with ferocity, and from its gaping maw, currently embedded in the breaking Viscus, energy began to swirl. Lance could be heard screaming before Reddo unleashed its most powerful, blood-fueled attack. ¸¤·.¸.·¤´˜¨Live and let Die¨˜´¤·.¸.·¤¸

Below, fighting stayed a constant in the hectic remains of the garden. All, however, stopped when they heard Lance scream. It was the scream that chilled any man to the bone, and was immediately followed by a loud explosion, and the entire west wall of the tower exploded forth, carrying with them the barely-intact body of the invading commander and several tons of bricks, which rained on both friend and foe alike. Among the bricks were two distinct pieces of armor; each half of Viscus. At the top of the tower, now lacking a portion of its walling, (as well as the floor below it), stood a woman in full battle dress. Her crimson hair was unmistakable, at her side was the hellish axe Reddo, and behind her, the nervous steward Mars. Some surrendered immediately. Others tried to escape. Some daring few continued to fight. All perished under the unforgiving gaze of the Crimson Witch. In this conflict, there would be no mercy, even to those once called family.
