As I write this, I watch our small camp transform. We began as a band of second sons and downtrodden. With wealth from the mines, we’ve been able to smuggle and trade and craft for more proper equipment finally. More than that, more Asgarnian Patriots join our ranks every day. Some have brought skills and equipment we simply did not have before. Our benefactors that have worked hard have aided us greatly.
I must admit, I cannot be sure Jeoffrey Halvorson (nee Sicarius) is an evil man. Perhaps misguided.
Asgarnia is a land of deep history and deep traditions. It is hard for us to forget that we lost many sons at the Battle of the Barracks, when the Sicarius and the Kandars stabbed Asgarnia in the back for greed. His family name simply rings poor to the ear of a mother who lost her child that day. The traditions of justice are forgotten.
The manner of his seizure of his position was naturally strange, having supported the Kandar, being a turncoat against the Asgarnian Nation, and then being a turncoat two-fold against the Kandar. Those we opposed the Kandar, we did so with honor. A turncoat against our enemy is still a turncoat, and his honor is impugned by this. The traditions of honor are forgotten.
Of course, he has no rightful claim to the throne. He shares no blood relation to Raddallin or his successors. He made no attempt to search for a rightful heir, nor does it seem he ever had any interest in doing so. The traditions of blood are forgotten.

As destiny draws near, let it be known. I pen this letter as Varis, son of James, son of King James the Second. My mother’s father was Safalaan, brother to Queen Jane. By seniority of male-line descent from James the First, by absolute succession following the loss of Queen Fiore, and by descent from King Raddallin, Father of Asgarnia, my blood right to bring peace to Asgarnia is undeniable.
This, I intend to do. Upod these foundations, it is the desire of many within this camp to see great reforms in order to safeguard the future. The ancient tradition of Assembly must return in full to us. That they are to be entreated by any monarch for support must be restored. That they should confirm any heir to the Kingdom must be enshrined. With such protections in place, we would never have come to this point.
Yet here we are. I pray for where we could be.

Before I post an IC response to this can I just ask that we put aside the "Greys are related to the NPCs that own Asgarnia"?
Seriously, this was rofly even back when it was first dreamed up. I think in general we should start with the simple rule that your character cannot be related to an NPC, let alone a royal family. It is nothing more than a blatant attempt to stake a permanent claim to an area so that you can go back and take it over again as many times as you like (such as here).
Even as a purely IC claim of your character this has become pointless as Zamorak's Union has spent decades debunking this lie to the entire population of Asgarnia.
Varis just stop it.

Did the son of Zamorak /just/ say not to be related to an npc as it is 'rofl'?

Swear you would get so much farther with people if you separated in-character propaganda from out-of-character perspective.

I will write something up properly later...

I agree! And it's that
exact
problem that leads me to an immediate issue with Camp Donblas. Let me explain;
Camp Donblas has been, and at least was intended to be, a small impoverished group with barely anything to its name. They barely had iron. Through an RP scaling backwards, I gave them access to Rimmington mine - This was meant to be a temporary occupation of theirs, which'd buff their gear up and allow more of them access to iron. The temporary nature of such was discussed over Discord (as was the idea that there would be few imperial soldiers there, something that apparently I've been mocked for. "Daku showed up alone LOL!" ) Throughout the entire RP, which I repeat was scaled
backwards
to
before
the coup happened, people were still yelling about "Fuck Jeoffrey!" and other nonsense, continuing even when corrected. I was even told OOC how Imperial Asgarnia had gone ("He was listed publicly as Sicarius!", when it was just Arenaride typing his more well-known moniker for the OOC census), despite the fact that at no point had
anybody
announced, in-character to the public, that he was involved as treasurer.
I've been very transparent with Varis. Even informing him OOC that what was going to be an attack on Rimmington would wind up being an ambush meant to capture or kill the armed rebel faction in response to them. After that, apparently, transparency and communication has completely ceased. It's only been through third-party people that I know anywhere close to the number of, and individual, people that've suddenly jumped into the group after informing Varis. Until I raised a point last night that there had been nothing posted on Camp Donblas about its growth or more people joining, which apparently resulted in this thread,
There had
been
absolutely nothing updated regarding the size, status, or position of Camp Donblas. I've seen the people who're now interested in being part of the group. Rather coincidentally, they're largely the same people whose presence resulted in the Kinshra group being turned away. On top of this, ridiculous shit has been thrown towards me and my own group regarding the roleplays and interactions I've had with other groups. I've been told to my face, "If we're supposed to accept your crystal weaponry, you have to accept us throwing fire surges like it's nothing." My group has been mocked for their characters, by people who just a week and a half ago were trying to coax those people away from me and praising their characters. I've been accused (behind my back, of course) of my main character Jeoffrey having died a bunch of times, by a person who's
trying to force a resurrection on someone through just a name in a book. No body, no soul, nothing. Just a name.
From my perspective, the sudden influx of wealth and people to Camp Donblas through just a bit of copper and iron ore, is deeply rooted in the same metagame that I've been worried about affecting a large number of groups that all, suddenly, are interested in collapsing on top of Asgarnia. The moment I take it. Not during any previous incarnations of the PoK. All while complaining about the way I operate my group or my roleplay.
There are 6(six) other large-scale groups across Gielinor that could be joined.
1. Kandarin
2. Misthalin
3. Tirannwn
4. Morytania
5. Menaphos
6. Eastern Lands
None of you are required to interact with Asgarnia. As a settled group, we have a right to look at the people bringing offers to us, and scrutinize them. Consider Camp Donblas scrutinized. The explosion in population, in wealth, in everything, is seen as some intense metagame that's only come around, very silently might I add,
after
..

They think they are "the many", and I "the few". They think this gives them the right to walk over me.
..I announced to Varis that the camp would come under attack. So here's how this is going to go.
Varis, we're gong to talk. DM me whenever. We're going to talk
before
the battle. We're going to figure this out and come to an agreement, or we're not going to have anything at all. I already know that this is going to end up in a schism on the forums, at this rate, and so I'm putting a full-stop on this.
