The Grand Synod of Cardinal Ecclesiarchs
The Grand Synod is the equivalent of the College of Cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church, or the Orthodox Pentarchy, but more accurately akin to the former.

The Grand Synod serves as a council of advisors for His Holiness the Divine Rector, and upon the death of a Rector is elects from among its number the successor to the Vicar of Saradomin.

In the event, such as the present situation, where there is a lack of guidance towards a particular fellow to assume the role of the Divine Rector, the Church is led primarily by the Synod until such a person arises.

The Grand Synod consists of;
The Bishop of Varrock, Archbishop of Misthalin - Cesare Sforza (Kaiser Klaus)
The Bishop of Camelot, Archbishop of Kandarin - Anita Vansalder (Eln)
The Prince-Bishop of Falador, Archbishop of Asgarnia - Francis Villiers (Longshanks)
The Bishop of Ardougne - Joseph Alom** (A Disgrace)
The Bishop of Burthorpe - Tolat Aberdire (Delemis)
The Bishop of Yanille - Leon de Neapoli (Rallen)
The Bishop of Lumbridge - VACANT
The Bishop of Sarim - VACANT
The Exc. Bishop of Karid - VACANT


Members of the Grand Synod are entitled to the use of "Cardinal Ecclesiarch" in their address.

Upcoming Synod Meetings
There are currently no urgent matters arising which prompt an organised meeting of the Synod.

However, it is hoped that the Grand Synod could meet weekly to discuss matters arising within the Church.

The Military and Hospitaller Order of the Monastic Knights of St. Gregory
The Military and Hospitaller Order of the Monastic Knights of St. Gregory, A.K.A (and henceforth referred to as) The Gregorian Hospitallers, is a Monastic Military Order which serves the Holy Church.

The Gregorian Hospitallers have many roles to fulfill, and will find themselves, at times, pressed thin.

The Gregorian Hospitallers are responsible for:
The defence of the person of the Divine Rector,
The protection of all Church Leaders,
The protection of pilgrims along designated pilgrimage routes,
The establishment, maintenance and protection of hospitals,
The establishment, maintenance and protection of monasteries,
The protection, aiding and healing the sick, injured and poor,
Aiding the Inquisitors in tracking down and arresting Heretics,
Providing medical aid and care on the front line for Saradomin's armies.

This list in not exhaustive, but merely an overview of the extensive responsibilities of the Gregorian Hospitallers.

Gregorian Hospitallers - Ranks
The Gregorian Hospitallers' ranking system is not complex. It is a four tier system.

Tier One: The Trusted Patron & Grand Master of the Military and Hospitaller Order of the Monastic Knights of St. Gregory
The Patron & Grand Master of the Order and is charged with financing and organising it.
Current: N/A

Tier Two: Knight Commander (2)
The KCs are charged with carrying out duties assigned by the Patron.
They are promoted Knights based on leadership qualities.

Tier Three: Knight Brother (Infinite)
The Knights are the trained bulk of the Order.
They are fighters, healers and intellectuals.
They are the most pious of men, having devoted their lives entirely to Saradomin, the Church and the unfortunate.

Tier Four: Serving Brother (Infinite)
The Serving Brothers are new members of the Monastic Order.
They are intellectuals first and foremost, and are undergoing training in the field of healing and combat.

Brothers (all of the above ranks are Brothers) of the Order are required to wear beards, not too long or too short.

The Saradominist Inquisition
The Saradominist Inquisition, A.K.A (and henceforth referred to as) the Inquisition, is an institution comprised of many devout followers of the Faith.

The Inquisition has three main roles to fulfill:
It is the Judicial arm of the Church, tasked with legal aspects pertaining to church officials,
It is tasked with assessing influential Saradominists to keep them "on track",
It is tasked with seeking out an eliminating heresy and heretical teachings, ensuring conformity within the Faith.

The Saradominist Inquisition - Ranks
The Inquisition's ranking system is extremely basic. It is a two tier system, with an optional middle tier at the discretion of the Grand Inquisitor.

Tier One: The Grand Inquisitor
The G.I is tasked with overseeing the activities of and coordinating the Inquisition.
He is the second highest Judicial official in the Church, whose actions may only be appealed to and repealed by the Divine Rector.
Current: Bishop Tolatsson (Delemis)

Middle Tier: Regional Directors
The R.Ds are a non-compulsory post, appointed by the G.I at his own discretion, but may be removed by the Divine Rector. They act as Legates (Representatives) of the Inquisitional Judiciary, and thus the Holy See, in the absence of the G.I.

Tier Two: Inquisitors
The Inquisitors are the men on the ground, searching for heresy and assessing the pious integrity of the people of the Faith.
They may be placed in supervision of legal Courts by the G.I. if found necessary.
