Shadows over Falador
•¤†¤•¤†¤••¤†¤•¤†¤••¤†¤•¤†¤••¤†¤•
The storm broke a day before the Kinshra marched. In a way it was almost as if it started too early, like
Noel
had forced an outcome to give everybody time to prepare. Prepare they did indeed,
Jeoffrey's
war plans for the Kinshra previously had come in handy here.
Tanelyx
knew about all of them, but that didn't make the avenues he'd blocked off any more accessible - It just meant she didn't try them. So when they arrived, they came rather generically from the front, trebuchets lobbing boulders over the great white walls while a battering ram came to try and knock the gate open. A brave regimen of Knights headed by
Jeoffrey
himself ran disruption, taking on the guards that marched with the ram and cleaning them to disable the weapon of war. While his men moved to clear out the trebuchets,
Jeoffrey
remained behind to battle against a contingent unit of Kinshra Elite. With how easily the front gates were defended, he knew it was a distraction, but for
what
wasn't too clear..

They think they are "the many", and I "the few". They think this gives them the right to walk over me.

That is, until the demons arrived. Shock troops spawning within the city through lightning hammering down, Falador was immediately thrust into turmoil, the
White Knights
that remained inside to operate relief camps suddenly expected to fight and repel the invading forces. With a few buildings long since converted to bunkers to protect civilians, early casualties were few, with the demons being the main threat in the battle. However fortunately for the city, several heroes were present within its walls before the war began. Two mages of
ice
and
fire
saw to it that a large swathe of the invaders were occupied, while
Skraegorn
lifted from its perch atop the castle and began soaring over the city, belching emerald green fire to cull the ones arriving the southern side of the city.
The battle was fierce, however it looked to be coming under control as the defenders began rounding the remaining forces in to crowds to slaughter, especially when the gates were opened after the distraction frontal assault had been dismantled, allowing
Jeoffrey
and his units to reenter the city and aid in the defense. Just as everything looked handled, the second wave began. Another bout of great thunderstrikes illuminated the sky, revealing the silhouettes of a
colossal entity
exchanging blows with a
winged creature
superimposed upon it, and with the lightning strikes came the great roaring of not one, not two, but
three
Tsutsaroth
class Avernic demons, each with a collection of three Greater demons as their accomplices.

One was spawned in the Main Square amidst the two mages of

Jeoffrey

to handle the unwelcome guests.

invasion was ferocious and unforgiving, but she learned a valuable lesson by the end of it. When your goals meet opposition from both within and without, it's doomed to fail. The
Tsutsaroth
demons were brought down one at a time, first the Eastern by the hands of

The following figures have been heralded as new Heroes, and shall enjoy several perks to be disclosed privately so long as they walk Asgarnian soil;
Noel Cuis
For resisting Tanelyx even while almost totally dominated by the possession
Lydia Everetts
For bravely marching against the Kinshra even through her stubborn pacifism
Acolyte Reese
For her careful commanding of the White Knights even amidst a Tsutsaroth appearing with entourage directly in the middle of their formation
RiDaku Yazumi
and
Ren Draculea
For their brilliant use of elemental specialties to become a terror on the battlefield, leaving a Tsutsaroth demon locked down until further help could arrive
Pain Calypso
For his last-minute arrival leading a horde of homegrown hobgoblins courtesy of
Ashley Gremoire
, and taking down three Greater demons.

On an OOC note, I owe Kat an apology. Ultimately, while fun, this plot was a failure, with all of the blame resting on me. I very stubbornly insisted on stalling the finale out until I could get an item that wound up taking me months to finally roll (thanks RNG) and by that time, all of the hype that had been building up had long died out. We were able to get a good way in to the finale and saw plenty of RP but it wasn't sustainable, and the plot came to an unsatisfying close through inactivity. I know what not to do for the future, but that doesn't make up for my mistakes hurting your creation.
Now if you'll excuse me, I really need to land Orlando Smith's Hat from a clue scroll for the next plot.
