B. The Code of Ethics is a nonbinding set of ethical guidelines that Members of this Organization are expected to follow. A violation of the Code of Ethics may warrant disciplinary action if Overseers or the Core deem it necessary. The pillars of the Code of Ethics are as follows:

a. I shall treat my peers and superiors with respect and as equals.
b. I shall never harm another sentient being unless out of self-defense, the defense of my peers and superiors, the defense of this Organization, unless it is to further the goals of this Organization, or unless it is otherwise justifiable.
c. I am not entitled to any boon, reward, or compensation unless I work to acquire it, and I shall act in accordance with this principle.
d. I shall conduct myself professionally in all of my business dealings.
e. I shall be selfless and put the interests of the greater good before my own selfish interests.
f. I shall strive to develop my skills not just for the sake of this Organization, but for my own sake.
g. I recognize that the consumption of spirits and the use of psychotropic substances is permissible and perhaps even beneficial in moderation, but that excessive use and addiction is unhealthy and should be avoided.

Section IV: My Place in this Organization

A. I hereby consent to an Evaluation, to be conducted by an Examiner of Rank IV or higher, that seeks to assess my physical, mental, and emotional abilities as well as my moral integrity.
B. I fully understand that my place and Role in this Organization will be determined in accordance with this Evaluation of personality traits, skills, and physical and mental abilities.
C. I hereby accept the Title that is given to me by my Examiner. This Title is a pseudonym that I shall adopt and use when dealing with other Members of this Organization or potential recruits. Within this Organization, I shall only be known by this Title.
D. I may suggest a Title to my Examiner, but I recognize and acknowledge that my Examiner reserves the final word as to what my Title is.
E. I shall work to the best of my abilities to fulfill the Role that has been assigned of me through this Evaluation.
F. I shall strive to prove my worth to this Organization by showing my loyalty, developing my skills, and contributing to the advancement of the goals of this Organization.

Section V: Loyalty and Authority

A. I acknowledge and understand that all Members of this Organization, regardless of Rank, share the same fundamental rights as sentient beings.
B. Given this, I shall treat all of my fellow Members of this Organization with due respect and as equals.
C. However, I acknowledge and accept that I have the duty and obligation to obey the orders of my superiors.
D. Furthermore, I acknowledge and realize that I must obey the orders of my superiors for the good of this Organization, and that they are not acting to further their own individual interests, but in the general interest of this Organization.
E. Therefore, I affirm that I shall place my loyalty and trust in my fellow Members of this Organization above all else, including my loyalty in trust in my friends, family, employer(s), other individuals outside of this Organization, and other organizations I belong to outside of this Organization.

Section VI: Conflicts of Interest

A. Upon joining this Organization, I shall report to the Examiner the names and political/religious alignments of all other organizations that I currently belong to. This includes but is not limited to societies, companies, clubs, official institutions, political parties or groups, and organized crime rings.
B. Upon joining this Organization, I shall report to the Examiner the names and political/religious alignments of all other organizations that I formerly belonged to. This includes but is not limited to societies, companies, clubs, official institutions, political parties or groups, and organized crime rings.
C. I shall report to the Examiner my current and past religious affiliation(s).
D. I shall report to the Examiner any familial associations, titles of nobility, or military ranks that I currently possess or formerly possessed.
E. I understand that these associations may present a conflict of interest, and that potential conflicts of interest will be documented by my Examiner and kept on file.
F. I understand that conflicts of interest may or may not disqualify me from Initiation into this Organization.

G. I understand that conflicts of interest may or may not warrant the monitoring of my activities by the my Overseer or the Enforcement Cell that operates within my jurisdiction.
H. I affirm and swear that if there are any potential conflicts of interest, they shall not interfere with my role(s) in this Organization, the carrying out of orders that are given to me by my superiors, and the positive intrapersonal relationships I am cultivating with my peers and superiors.
I. If any potential conflicts of interest among myself or my peers or superiors come to my attention, then I shall report these conflicts of interest to my Cell’s Overseer, who shall assist me in determining an appropriate course of action. I understand that my Overseer reserves the right to seek the advice and counseling of the Enforcement Administrator and/or Supreme Overseer if they deem it necessary.

Section VII: The Mark

A. I hereby agree to accept the Mark and have this magical tattoo branded across my back.
B. I am eager and willing to accept the abilities that donning the Mark grants me, which include the ability to communicate telepathically with my peers and superiors, the ability to share knowledge and information with my peers and superiors, and the ability to identify and sense the presence of my peers and superiors.
C. I hereby bind my life and memories of this Organization to this infernal Mark.
D. I understand that this Mark is no ordinary tattoo, but a magical tattoo, and that by donning it I sacrifice some of my rights to intellectual privacy.
E. I understand that I shall be relinquishing these rights for the good of this Organization as well as for the safety and best interests of my peers, my superiors, and myself.

Section VIII: Oath of Secrecy

A. I hereby solemnly swear that all information that I possess and activities that I conduct for this Organization, as well as my Membership to this Organization, shall be kept confidential and secret from all individuals who are not Members of this Organization.
B. I hereby solemnly swear that I shall not reveal any information to Members of this Organization that do not possess proper privileges and clearance to access it.
C. I shall uphold this Oath of Secrecy with my life.

Section IX: Punishment and Retribution

A. It must first be emphasized that as an Infernal Contract, this document is mortally binding, and thus a violation of the Terms and Conditions as outlined by this Contract may result in the death of the signee, depending on the nature of the violation.
B. Members of this Organization who are accused of violating the Terms of this Contract shall be seen in a Hearing, in which an individual of Rank IV or higher serves as an Arbiter. An Arbiter is most commonly a Deputy to the Overseer or the Overseer of the accused’s Cell.
C. The accused may select another individual to represent them during the Hearing, but they must be present during the Hearing and willing to respond to questions directed specifically at them.
D. The Arbiter shall reach a final decision in the matter when presented with all of the evidence, and shall determine the appropriate punishment.
E. Violations of this Contract are divided into two categories: Infraction and Breach.

F. An Infraction is an offense that constitutes a minor violation of the Terms and Conditions of this Contract. An Infraction warrants a non-mortal punishment to be determined at the discretion of an Overseer or The Core. Violations that constitute Infractions include but are not limited to:

a. Violation of the Code of Ethics, if the violation is deemed serious enough to warrant disciplinary action.
b. Disrespecting or engaging in physical or verbal conflict with a peer or superior, if deemed serious enough to warrant disciplinary action.
c. Refusal to carry out orders given by superiors.
d. Minor breach of secrecy, which would include the revelation of Membership of this Organization or the revelation of information not considered sensitive (the latter is to be evaluated and determined on a case-by-case basis). Minor breach of secrecy also includes the disclosure of sensitive information to Members who do not have the privilege or clearance to access this information.
e. Dishonesty and bearing of false witness towards peers and superiors, if a Breach does not accompany this offense.
f. Petty theft from this Organization or its Members.
*. Minor destruction of property of this Organization or its Members.
*. The unwarranted or unnecessary infliction of severe physical harm or death upon other sentient beings.
i. Carnal assault of another Member of this Organization.
j. Failure to report and address conflicts of interest.
k. Failure to disclose all relevant information to the Examiner during an Evaluation.
l. Abuse of the abilities that donning the Mark grants oneself.
*. Abuse of one’s Rank to take advantage of other Members of this Organization.
n. Abuse of one’s position as Overseer to intentionally compensate Members of my Cell unfairly.
o. Defamation and libel against this Organization or of one’s superiors.
p. Failure to satisfactorily fulfill one’s Role in this Organization.

G. The appropriate punishment for an Infraction will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Overseer or The Core during a Hearing. Appropriate punishments may include but are not limited to:

a. Monetary fines, to be deducted from a Member’s compensation.
b. Stripping/demotion of a Member’s Rank.
c. Temporary imprisonment.
d. Corporal and/or psychic punishment.
e. Transfer to another Cell.
f. Supervising and counseling from a higher Ranking individual.
*. Monitoring of activities by the Core.
*. Temporary or permanent revocation of one of one’s Rights as a Member of this Organization.
H. A Breach is an offense that constitutes a major violation of the Terms and Conditions of this Contract. A Breach is punishable by death. Violations that constitute Breaches include but are not limited to:
a. The taking of the life of another loyal Member of this Organization.
b. The disclosure of information that this Organization deems sensitive to individuals outside of this Organization.
c. An attempt or intent to engage in defection, desertion, or espionage against this Organization.
d. Major theft from this Organization or its Members.
e. Major destruction of property of this Organization or its Members.
f. The repeated committal of Infractions may be considered a Breach.
I. Violations that do not fall under the categories listed under § IX.F and § IX.H of this Contract shall be evaluated and categorized on a case-by-case basis.
J. Only the Supreme Overseer reserves the right to pardon a Member that commits a violation.

Section X: Rights Reserved by Members of this Organization

A. As a Member of this Organization, I am entitled to special rights and privileges that I may not otherwise be entitled to under the rule of law.
B. As a Member of this Organization, I reserve the right to:
a. Have de facto immunity from the rule of law when operating under the protection of this Organization.
b. Freedom of speech and of the press.
c. Freedom of religious practice and belief.
d. Keep and bear arms and weaponry, both for use to further the goals of this Organization and for personal possession and use.
*. Practice magic.
f. Consume alcohol and psychotropic substances.
g. Have agency and control over my own personal choices.
h. Receive fair compensation for my labor for this Organization.
i. Represent myself or be represented by a person of my choosing in a fair Hearing if I were to be accused of violating the Terms and Conditions of this Contract.
j. Appeal a decision of guilt and punishment reached during a Hearing, unless the offense is a Breach.
k. Petition for transfer to another Cell.
l. Petition to my Overseer for a change in Roles.
