Going to have to give this a read-through. I want to share a couple of cents before bothering to do that though.

Back in my day...

There used to be a strong emphasis on Private vs Public roleplay, and how private RP's could do what they wanted while public RP was held to a more universal (if nebulous and arbitrary) set of rules.

I think developing new systems and such is a really strong idea for private roleplays. Set up the system, host the roleplays, and see if other people want to start hosting too.

Of course, if nobody shows up then I'm not sure what can be done.

EDIT: After reading through everything I can see that I'm not really adding anything here, other than throwing my hat in the ring for the "bubble" system. Though like Dan said there's not much point in trying to find a consensus.

Not a fan of the"bubble" system particularly, if I'm honest. You have your autonomy, yes, and it's very much based on "do what you like", but we have rules for a reason. That system has no respect for continuity or progressive storytelling, which has been such a magical part of the POK system; seeing how it has developed over different rulers and such.

The "bubble" system essentially makes it so nothing matters. Interaction can be at a minimal and once your bit is done, it's done. There's no legacy, no continuation, nothing to inspire future stories and further directions based on what's happened. Maybe some people like the blank slate idea but it just seems... pointless?

Call me an elitist, but if you're a leader of a public RP group and you can't handle interacting with others, then I doubt you should be a leader. That's the real world.

edited for one spelling error lol

That's super patronizing and really cool of you but this is make-believe fantasy and if my dungeons and dragons group doesn't want to collaborate with another dungeons and dragons group then there is no reason our dungeons and dragons groups should interact even if we both have public invitations out there. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

I mean there's nothing wrong with that but it doesn't sound very public to me. Look there doesn't need to be any stigma around this but I would like definitions of public and private which make it clear that public groups don't pick and choose who they RP with except in cases where a particular group badly violates the generally agreed upon rules of RP.

Neat and cool idea but I already explained why those "definitions" of public/private have turned the idea of roleplaying on w42 into a popularity contest and started the trend of sabotaging and dismantling roleplays that "threaten" "public" roleplay, or discouraging them from being joined by labeling them as "private" and thus inaccessible. Anybody and everybody reserves the right to turn somebody away from what they're doing no matter who they are or what the reason. It's called having fun. God this is such an archaic mindset. Yours or mine?

In all seriousness though since I'm not going to try and sabotage or attack others in any way (so long as they don't go around telling new roleplayers to kick me out of the cc before I can even introduce myself) so it seems somewhat unfair to tie me to accusations that aren't true.

To be honest, any situation in which there are multiple RP groups that do not acknowledge each other are kind of in competition over the RP player base, numbers being what they are. Can't really see how definitions of public and private come into that at all really.

While there are bad apples in the community, we as humans deserve a chance to learn and grow through our mistakes. I have seen terrible people on this game turn into some of the most mature and swell individuals and I have also seen the opposite.

That being said, most divisiveness in this community comes from misunderstanding and misinformation. Ignoring a problem does not make it go away, it only makes people more resentful and bitter. Communication is key.

That's my two cents.

I wanna change the combat format to a more rpg like stand point turn base
I wanna make use of the dueling system no one seems interested in that

I hate the charge spell stuff no auto hit I think you should be able to walk up
And smack or stab someone and let them react to it how they would

I feel like the dice in game item was a perfect way for us to decide if a attack
Landed but because the gambling members of runescape couldn't help themselves
The item was sadly removed tho we could use dice on discord somehow idk

If we all took the time to decide on what we would deem acceptable
I feel like we could get right back to business as usual with freelance
And creativity

Thank you for letting me comment on this.
What can I say scorpions sting why would you pick me up then if not too get stung
