Another thing worth noting is that some islands are simply ridiculous - such as the player who claims to be the prince of a wealthy island kingdom, that can't be easily found because its name and location are kept a secret. It takes ten seconds of thinking to figure out how ridiculous this is, because
1. Pirates, who are more than willing to write down coordinates of a good place for looting.
2. If it really was a secret, that would severely limit how much trade could go there, meaning a lot less wealth, or no secrecy.
3. Going back to the pirates thing, it wouldn't take much effort to loot a ship headed there and get the crew to squeal.

Independent island nation? Fine. But don't go making it out to be glorious when it arguably can't be, and is a simple excuse to have a ton of rofl-money.

[A medium sized, slanted island. On the west side of the island is a steep cliff with a single cave that is populated by sea serpents, which come out during monsoon season. The east side of the island is mostly a beach. The island contains a single, but large settlement, populated by entirely humans. There are two large docks, on the south eastern and north eastern corners of the island. The southern dock is a civilian fishing boat dock, and the northern is the dock of Wu Rin's private trade fleet. The settlement itself consists of standard Wushankan (Japanese Style) houses, with a single large mansion where the Khan lives. At the highest point of the western cliffside is a grove of Sakura trees, with a single bench roughtly 4 feet from the edge. Skyreach/Secret- it changes constantly/Guardians of Armadyl/None

Skyreach is a large, heavily fortified citadel that serves as the Guardians' headquarters. Constructed during the Second Age, Skyreach is a relic of Armadylean culture. It is the current IC resting place of the Divine Focus, and as such entry to the floating island is highly restricted.

The Satellite/Usually above Asgarnia or Misthalin/Guardians of Armadyl/None

The Satellite is a smaller citadel, used as a staging area for Guardians operations. A lodestone here makes visiting the island open to anyone.

^Maybe not the kind of islands you meant, but they're still landscaled places you can't find on the map.
