The Levies

Controlled by the local nobility, the Levies are their personal forces and must defend their liege's land in times of peace, as well as ensure the Grand Duke's justice, in their respective regions. Levies usually are Cavalry and Men-At-Arms. They are armed, trained, paid and fed by their liege.

Levies are the primary, standing army of Sarimia, all of which answer to their liege, the Lord Marshal and the Grand Duke, the greatest authority of them all, in that order. They may only be raised by the order of the Grand Duke; as such, the Lord Marshal and the liege must be granted permission to raise their levies except in times which urgent defense is needed.

The Ducal Sarimian Navy

Commanded by the Lord Admiral of Sarimia, the Navy is an essential part of Sarimian defense, and like levies, relies on ships granted by the nobility of the grand duchy. The navy, united, is large enough to protect the Grand Duchy’s trade routes and waters.

Like levies, the naval forces of Sarimia may only be raised by their lieges and the Lord Admiral if they are granted permission by the Grand Duke, or unless His Highness raises them himself.

The flagship of the Ducal Sarimian Navy is, HHS Netherstorm , a Man o’ War battleship.

HHS Retribution , Man o' War, Flagship of the Valengale Fleet (30 Ships)
HHS Oath of Asgarnia , Man o' War, Flagship of the Pain Fleet (20 Ships)
HHS Opulent , Mercantile, Flagship of the Ducal Mercantile Fleet (50 Ships)
HHS Justice , Frigate, Ship of the Ducal Fleet

Levies Uniform

As levies are dependent on the liege lord serve, so too are the colors and banners that they wear into battle, besides those of Sarimia itself;

By decree of the Grand Duke, the immense military presence of his vassals' forces has significantly lessened over the past few days; enough men remain throughout the realm to act as law enforcement and immediate lines of defense.

With the appointment of the Lord Admiral, Sedris Magellan, Sarimian naval forces consisting of the ships raised from the Grand Duke's vassals have begun to form sophisticated, and organized, patrols of Sarimian waters; at this time of peace, Sarimian vessels are few and present only in constant defense of merchant and civilian ships passing through.

Vessels are on alert after major pirate attack on Camelite ships. Hi, I'm Dan.
