thank you for this posts I really wanted to do role playing as i like the idea of being a elf. Sadly with two exceptions no one seems to role play that I meet (both those guys wanted me to play house not the role playing i want)
I will walk all over w42 and if anyone evens talks or acts like I exists are skilling and talk about that, which I can get in any world.
So far to me it is like any other world, so I will read this post again and again till i figure out what I am doing (or not doing) wrong
again thank you
BTW as to the playing house comment plz don't get me wrong I am not unwilling to meet and be with someone in w42 I just want something more than just that. In fact would love have someone to share the game with even a guy

Ah, yeah, I made this mistake when I first showed up.

Not everyone playing on W42 is roleplaying. If you walk up to most people and start trying to roleplay you're probably just going to get trolled or, y'know, asked to "play house" (I've heard it called some things...).

Your best bet is to apply to a clan here on the forum and arrange to roleplay with them, or at least hover in their chat and find out where the roleplay's at. Falador seems fairly busy again, so if you're after some impromptu fun you can hang around there and watch for people doing all the funny icons. Then you'll know you've struck RP'ers! Just do the whole shebang back and you're in. One man's trash is another's treasure, and one man's cash buys another's pleasure.

Ty i will do that and I havent actually gone up and tried to role play as I have no idea what to do. I have tried to see what goes on but as I said never noticed any difference . Now maybe I know what to look for at least Maybe I will find someone patient enough to teach me what I need to know if not then I will now know where to look and learn from distance .
And playing house was best thing I could think of to explain it without fear of temp ban or mute :) My command of english sometimes causes me bit of confusion with others

Hello! I have returned to Runescape after an incredibly long absence (like, really long), and I would like to venture into the roleplaying realm. I've done some roleplaying before, but never via Runescape. I'd love any help or suggestions! (:

K here's what you do

Hang in Falador
Wait for RP to start
Go in character as the best assassin in the world who uses a crossbow
Get some random people to become your character's friend in character
Buy the whole bar drinks
Lead a drunk bar of peasants to the castle
Demand to see the king
Get people panicked and force all the major "important" rpers to get online
Shoot the king
Let the peasant mobs roll over the castle
Go ooc
Walk away without saying another word
Come back the next day and do it again
Eventually people will ignore your attacks
Move on to Kandarin, then Misthalin, Relleka, Al Kaharid, and eventually to Morytania
Repeat
Seize all kingdoms after slaying all the leaders with your peasant army
Unite the world under one crown of blood
Then log off
Don't go online for sixteen days
See what the world becomes
If you still own the world, start accepting EVERY attempt on your life
Soon, a completely new rper will shoot the new high emperor (you) in the face
With your dying breath, make them the new emperor
They will have no idea what's going on
And at that moment, that final moment
You have role played
