Preamble: Introduction to the Asgarnians PoK RP

Hi, all!

This is a public roleplaying group which serves as a continuation after the events of the Asgarnia: War of Freneskae thread, in which the Queen Jane dies in combat at Witchaven, to the Imperial forces marshaled there to defend it from her invasion. The nobility of the realm is exhausted with the years upon years of turmoil and unrest, so to bring the realm back to order, the Grand Master of the White Knights, Manfred Keenan, invokes his privilege to assume the office of Regent of Asgarnia, so as to see the continuity of government until a successor can be named. It is promptly decided that from among the noble assembly, a new king shall be elected and after an ambitious campaign, the House of Sterlant, under the leadership of young William, succeeds and the regency council places him on the throne.

Of course, the new king, William, is not without detractors; there are many, namely the ousted House of Grey, who would wish to see themselves on the throne. Regardless, for now, the realm is much too tired now to carry on fighting and the promise of a new dynasty brings hope of renewed peace and prosperity in the land.

The Fall of Folsingath

A rebellious movement of mostly peasant elements has seized their liege lord, the Baron of Folsingath, in the northern province of Blackmarch. Now, on the march towards Falador, the mob has declared that they shall march to the White Square where the Baron will be executed before an audience for the crimes of treason against the monarchy and heresy.

What? : This is the beginning to a plot centered around the kingdom's growing opposition to the strength of the Zamorakian Faith in Asgarnia, especially around the Blackmarch. Everyone is invited, this is a public event!

Falador
The seat of the Duchy of Falador is the capital city itself; the King of the Asgarnians resides here, in the famed Castle White. Known as the White City, for its great marble-white walls and streets, the capital is a place of ancient majesty owed to the dynasties of old.

Blackmarch
Blackmarch is a vast, mountainous and forested province north of the capital and the residence of a variety of menaces and heroes of Asgarnia alike. Notably, it had come under the administration of the Kinshra Order numerous times throughout Asgarnian history. Notable settlements include but are not limited to:

Sarimia
A melting pot being host to the largest port on mainlain Gielinor, the Duchy of Sarimia is possessed by the House of Valengale, under the leadership of influential nobleman and politician, Viktor. The Duchy of Sarimia is known to be fervently patriotic and, as the birthplace of the great Asgarnian navy, is quite influential at home as well as abroad.

Empire of Kandarin

- A peace agreement has been made between Kandarin and Asgarnia, officially ending the war between the two nations. However, the Asgarnian Crown still considers the Empire a threat to its sovereignty.

Kingdom of Misthalin

- The Kingdoms of Asgarnia and Misthalin have formally declared their friendship through a treaty which binds them to a pact of mutual defense and trade agreements setting the maximum percentage of tariffs at two percent, allowing for an unimpeded flow of trade.

Kingdom of Menaphos

- Heathens, long history of hostility, la la la, you get the gist.

Craven Company

- After meetings between the Craven Company representative, Jasper Smith, and King William, relations between the company and the Asgarnian realm have warmed.
- A contract of marriage between the daughter of Overseer James Craven, Belinda, and the King, William, has been signed in order to solidify their business agreements.

Wilderness Tribes AKA Forinthrian Khanate

- Warriors from the Forinthry have pillaged the town of Edgeville, in neighboring Misthalin.
