Hey, I don't know if you've already chosen to part ways with W42 or RuneScape in general but I'd like to offer a new perspective as best I can to the whole "this place sucks" kinda thing. Because, well, it does suck, and really nobody can do much about it other than embrace that suck and move on .. the way I go about that is by ignoring the bad bits and trying to make my own fun out of it, while still acknowledging the bad bits. Regardless, the most unwelcoming aspect is the community itself because everyone argues.
In some places inside the community you can find some groups who are alright when you look hard enough. It's really what they and you make of it, and that's what is important. I'd offer you to join my own group as I'm trying the best I can to make the group active enough that spontaneous freelance isn't rare, and instead uncommon or even - hopefully - common (even including some other groups!), but I'm not sure you're interested anymore.
Either way, if you're still hanging around, do feel free to look for my thread. The Discord is linked inside and I'd be more than happy to get you acclimated. Hope we haven't lost yet another for the rest of time. Lol
