Soon, the thrill of the hunt was all he sought, forsaking his fortune and profession in favor of taking an apprenticeship under a hunter. As he reached adulthood, he found himself desiring to hunt larger, more dangerous prey. He has come to Kharidia to fight and kill the dangers that lurk below the shifting sands, or die trying. Come early morning, Witchaven's usual crowd of vendors and fishmongers cleared way for two regiments of armsmen, fresh from West Ardougne. They filed onto two transports and departed for Al Kharid. The navigators aboard charted a course between Crandor and Brimhaven before rounding Mudskipper Point. They opted to drift closer to the Caliphate's seas rather than any Republic's as the ships made their final approach.

The guard force among the Caliphates border with Misthalin seemed to triple in the following days, the ballistas on the rocks were tested to ensure they fired properly, and crates of arrows and other supplies were being brought up for to the encampments and various posts along the rock formations. Several mages would be seen walking along the rock formations and entering the towers to observe the roads below. Both pathways showed a heavy amount of soldiers at the gatehouses at the passes into Varrock and Lumbridge. Every foreigner and caravan coming through would be subject to search before allowed to pass through the gates. Behind each gate seemed to have members of the Jackals of Icthlarin and soldiers stationed close by.
